brooks station road around the time of the killing of vanessa marcotte. the boston alumni student worked for google in new york city and visiting family in princeton when she went out for a jog that morning. her family reported her missing when she didn't come back from the run. her body was found in the woods not far from the family's home. crews searched and combed through the woods looking for evidence, and police and family members called upon the public for any clues into her death. again, police are now looking for a dark-colored suv princeton on august 7th. police say they are also looking for a male suspect who may have had injuries after that date. anyone with information is asked to give them a call. in the newsroom, i'm cheryl fee
the search. >> yeah, right now we have some breaking details. we're told that the search effort here has wrapped up. the boats are out of the water, the divers are out of the water, but earlier when they were in sandra pond they were searching, we're told, for a missing person out of northborough. th not clear how long this person had been missing for or the event that may have led up to this search. but sky 7 hd was over the scene getting a look at some of those search efforts. but as of right now the search has divers are out of the water. we're told that all questions are being referred to the northborough police department. that's the latest here in westborough. john cuoco, 7news. boston police searching for a suspect in an alarming attack. 26-year-old jesse la bath is a wanted man. police say he's wanted in connection with a violent home invasion that left one woman fighting for her life. >> and they say he went after his exgirlfriend and her mother. steve cooper live on the scene
attack here in hyde park that left a trail of blood out the front door and several broken windows. and tonight boston police are scrambling to locate the suspect. >> s it's heart breaking. >> reporter: this is a mug shot of jeffrey la bath. boston police issuing the arrest warrant today for the 26-year-old they say busted into his exgirlfriend's home here on huntington ave and hyde park last night. stabbing the 23-year-old victim along with her 43-year-old >> i heard more screaming like, you know, desperate screaming and then i heard some glass crash up. >> reporter: both victims bleeding profusely were rushed to the hospital, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and face. but labath had bolted but not before shattering five first-floor windows. police say he also smashed the windshield of his rav4 parked in the driveway. >> by i time i came outside i seen hip kinds of looking back to see if my uncle was still
car and drove off. >> reporter: crime investigators processed the bloody crime scene before removing a silver colored knife and a hammer from one of the bedrooms. both items police believe were used in the assault. neighbors are horrified hearing details of the violent confrontation. >> it's very concerning. i'm just happy that, like something worse didn't happen, like he didn't have a gun or something like that. you know what i mean? right now labath is facing a string of charges including home invasion and 2 counts of armed assaulted with intent to murder. investigation is ongoing and active. those two victims are still recovering from those serious stab wounds tonight. we're live in hyde park, steve cooper, 7news. a woman rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries as she was hit by a car on a roxbury street. it happened this morning near roxbury community college. police say the driver did stay at the scene. also today a legal battle playing out in the stated's highest court.
