along with a kidnapping sunday. sparking an amber alert for two young kids- 3 fox carolina's andrew reeser is live outside the buncombe county courthouse in asheville- 3 trena weaver appeared before a buncombe county judge just moments ago... 3 police say she 3 was under the influence when she drove three year old harlee joyner and one year old elijah joyner during their abduction sunday. it's unclear why the kids were abducted... cops aren't releasing a motive in this case...but they say these three people, natasha cantrell, christopher carter and chadwick agan kidnapped the children...prompting officials to issue an amber alert around 11 am...then around 1 pm...cops say a couple...not any of the

suspects... dropped the kids off at this fire department in swannanoa...somewhere within this time frame, they say weaver transported the kids... she was arrested in asheville...the other three were arrested in jackson county georgia, where they remain behind bars at this hour. lots of questions in this case...including children's parents are...and from where the kids were abducted. declined further comment on the investigation today. 3 detectives say none of the suspects are blood relatives of the children...we tried to go to weaver's home to see if any shed some more light on her...but the address on her arrest homeless shelter. no word yet on when the other suspects will be extradited back to western live in asheville andrew reeser the four o clock news. 3 continuing to cover our counties at four---- 3 deputies from anderson county and greenville county are investigating after a car was found in the saluda river.but a search of the river...turned up no trace of a person... person...investigators say a call reporting a car in the water came in just before 7-30 last night.both sheriff's departments and the anderson fire technical rescue team rusponded to the scene near holcombe drive and lebby street.officials say the car s cleared.they also searched the banks but didn't find anyone.authorities are

continuing to look into it...but they say it's not clear whether anyone is missing in the area at this time. 3 in greenville-a man is locked up accused of pointing a gun at two people---out on a walk on christmas day- day-police say the couple was walking their dog in the parkins mill area...when a flfl past them-the couple says they motioned the driver to slow down---that driver was identified as cody cole- police say cole stopped, a fight broke out, took off then came back with a gun- he's since been charged with pointing and presenting a firearm. 3 just into our newsroom--a man's death in greenville county has been ruled a homicide- homicide-the coroner says nathan crouch was found dead inside a home on perry road last night around six- investigators say a fight led to a shooting...and that crouch died from a gunshot to the chest. chest.if you know anything about this homicide call crimeme stoppers at 23-crime.

3 over in spartanburg county- cowpens police is investigating a ssible deadly hit and run- 3 the coroner says "brent tesneer" was found behind the local hardees there on sunday morning.tesneer was rushed to the hospital where he later died-cowpens police is asking anyone with information on this death to call crime stoppers at 1-888-crime-sc 3 mcdowell county d-s-s needs your help finding a runaway teen. teen.officials say "david whittington" went missing from nebo on saturday.we're told he has friends and family throughout the county and is from the area...but that he's in d-s-s custody.if you see him or have any information...call d-s-s or the sheriff's office. 3 new information at four---- 3 an ohio grand jury declined to indict two police officers in the 20-14 shooting death of 12-year-old tamir rice.

and part of that is seeing sights like this...seeing plants in full bloom at the end of december. 3 3 3 star magnolia's in full bloom... so are o-cahmey flowering cherries.. and even the bee's are busy pollinating. sights you'd this march... not 3 its not uncommon to 3 have a warm 3 christmas here obviously, anybody whos lived here for a while knows that, because its been warm so long its allowed these things time to actually fully develop and start blooming and that is unusual. for more than 30 years, jim borenstein has run south pleasantburg nursery in greenville county. when he returned this morning from the christmas holiday...borenstein says he was in for quite the surprise.it's just about in full bloom. many of these blooms are almost all the way open and that is a good month or two ahead of schedule. so what should flowering plant owners do? 3 3 enjoy them now. you dont usually see flowers in december/early january, so enjoy them now. james wilkins who works at the south carolina botanical garden at

clemson university says should colder temps arrive -- just let the plants be...so they can re-acclamte to winter. winter. 3 leave them out. dont worry about covering them or doing anything special. theres nothing we can do. just let it handle what the weather brings. and with so many trees blooming now, what will it mean for this spring? 3 3 even though these blooms might get burned up from a frost this wekend, the rest of the buds will be fine and you'll still get to enjoy the flowering from the additional buds later as usual. 3 now even though experts say we should still see some blooms this spring -- they all agree they might not be as spectacular...since may of them have already bloomed and fallen off. they also say if you are planning to plant anything this winter ...dont worry about the temps...just plant as usual. in greenville

3 new at four---- 3 it's winter break for students--and a comic book store in anderson is opening it's doors to serve as a popular gathering spot for young adults to play card games and fill their free time! time!planet comics is bringing students together over the holiday break--many of them bringing in decks of cards they got for christmas. here...they're gathering to trade cards and build more decks...while talking about the strengths and weaknesses of the cards.college kids on break come to the story every friday to play.the group started online...but a couple months ago...the students decidedthey would meet face-to- face...rather than talking through a computer screen. 3 3 3 gaming as a whole has a challenge that many kids dont get to experience you get to be competitve but you also can ahh think really hard have a lot of strategy have alot of fun sit around a table with your friends and joke and your not exhausted after running around a soccer field all day or anything. 3 3 the store says there's something for students ranging from middle school to college to do almost every week.the
