problems into the evening commute. 3 good afternoon. i'm cody alcorn. alcorn.and i'm diana watson. 3 slick roads wreaked havoc on some northern greenville county roads today.this is a live look in travelers rest where several cars collided as they hit iced over bridges. plus troopers reported dozens of wrecks across the county this afternoon. 3 this weather also caused problems on roads in polk county this afternoon-we've seen several accidents--like this one--along eye-26...and have had reports of slick spots and cars fish tailing... 3 and the threat of dangerous winter weather prompted early dismissals in pickens and oconee counties this afternoon. other counties planned to use this president's day as a make-up day for the winter weather we saw a few weeks back...but the make-up day was pushed back due to today's storm across our area. 3 we want to get right over to chief meteorologist kendra kent for a first check of the weather-

our second question comes from carrie springs who says: "so temps are going to warm up enough tonight, not causing issues overnight? that's right carrie, temperatures will actually increase overnight. however, that doesn't mean that there won't be any issues. heavy rain could cause a few areas to pond and puddles to form. roads will be wet, not icy, so you'll still want to be cautious throughout the evening.finally, hannah stamper wants to know: will it affect school for tomorrow?now hannah, we do not make that call, but from what i can see, i don't see why schools would close tomorrow morning. roads will be wet and a few lingering showers may stick around, but temperatures will be too warm to facilitate icy conditions. 3 i hope these answers helped out a bit and we will continue to monitor things across the

westview boulevard just after 9 saturday night after getting a 9-1-1 call from a man who said he'd been shot.reports state that when officers arrived...they found the victim lying on the ground next to a white truck.the man was taken to the hospital.no word on his condition.a suspect has not been identified at this time.if you have any information...call crime stoppers at 1-888-crime-sc. 3 an investigation is underway after a shooting at the anderson county jockey lot. lot.deputies were called to the hospital just before two this afternoon - after a man showed up with a gunshot wound. the victim told deputies that he and his girlfriend had gone to the lot on highway 29 to meet somebody-when shots were fired at their car.the man was struck in the arm.so far, no arrests have been made. 3 south carolina... is in the political spotlight! spotlight!republican and democratic primaries in the next two weeks have candidates making daily visits to the state...meantime... a big debate is brewing over whether president obama... or his successor will choose the next
