moines... authorities are combing the city... searching for a missing woman. this is a picture of 20 year old erica johnson. she stands four feet ten inches tall... and weighs about 100 pounds. police say she's mentally disabled. if you see johnson.... call the west des moines police department at the number on your screen. at least one person is dead after a woman deliberately drove her car on the sidewalk of the las vegas strip... six people are still in critical condition this morning... like, it literally looked like she wasn't even trying to stop the car. she was just sitting there, like, just looking straight forward, not even moving. the windshields were busted, and there were, like, three or four men running after her, trying to stop the car. people scrambled to stop the woman as she drove through more than two dozen people last night, near where the miss universe pageant was taking place. police say she had a three year old with her in the car... who was not hurt. she was taken into custody. officers don't have a motive...

the woman had any drugs in her system. this was not an act of terrorism. and we have ruled that out. investigators are looking at surveillance video from the area... and interviewing dozens of witnesses. the spencer community is mourning the loss of high school wrestler. officials say austin roberts collapsed during a championship match at a tournament. he was taken to the hospital... where he later died... but there's still no word what happened to him. roberts was ranked sixth in class 3-a at 220 pounds... he placed eighth at the state meet in february. the senior also played on the offensive and defensive lines for the football team. the superintendent says his death has been tough on his classmates... there were a lot of tears, a lot of hugs and those types of things, but there were also some laughs, talking about stories about austin. austin was a student that was bigger than life in many ways, a large young man, 220- pounder student, with a laugh as big as any room you can put him

a go fund me page has been set family. the page has already raised more than 26 thousand dollars. the madrid community is remembering a legend this morning... football and track coach randy hinkel died over the weekend. "k-w-b-g radio" reports the cause was an apparent heart attack. two years ago hinkel became the 11th high school coach in state history to win 300 games. he coached at madrid for 29 years... and once led his team to a state championship. the doors are closed this morning at a polk county nightclub... where a man was killed. "evolution nightclub" in des moines lost its liquor license. the "iowa alcoholic beverages division" made the decision after the death of dashawn smith. the 20 year old was shot and killed there last month... three others were also shot but survived. and police say violence is no stranger to the club... officers have

the first caucuses and primaries are now just over a month away. at least six candidates are scheduled to be in new hampshire today. the latest new hampshire numbers show trump up 16 points over cruz and rubio. it looks like it will be a quiet christmas on iowa's campaign trail... just three presidential candidates are scheduled to make stops in the state this week. republican mike huckabee will be in marshalltown, toledo, van horne, and swisher today. democrat hillary clinton will be in keota, fairfield, and bettendorf tomorrow. and democrat bernie sanders will wrap up a three day swing with a final event in council bluffs on wednesday. there are no campaign stops currently scheduled from christmas eve through saturday. a republican presidential candidate is trying to show off his sense of humor... imagine the greatest christmas stories told by the senator who once read green eggs and ham from the senate floor. twas the night

shutdown and all through the house not a bill was stirring not even to fund a mouse. ted cruz hasn't appeared on "saturday night live" yet... but his campaign produced a parody commercial that aired in iowa during the show this weekend. it takes jabs at various rivals and moments in politics. donald trump hosted the show last month... while democratic frontrunner hillary clinton appeared in a sketch in october. christmas has come early at the gas pump this year... "triple a" says the national average for a gallon of gas is down to two dollars. it also says the more than two thirds of stations are selling gas for less than that. that's definitely happening here in des moines... the lowest price you'll find is one dollar and 64 cents per gallon... with an average of 2 dollars and 16 cents. analysts predict these prices

first on 13... some good news out of west des moines... police say they've found the woman who went missing earlier this morning. officers started their search for 20 year old erica johnson around 4 a-m. they've confirmed she was found safe and sound within the last half hour. police are investigating why a woman drove her car on the sidewalk of the las vegas strip... the incident left at least one person dead... and six more are in critical condition this morning. she rode the sidewalk. she came to a stop right here at the paris intersection, and then she was like... people were punching the window trying to get the, apparently, child out of the back seat. she accelerated again and just kept mowing everyone down. people scrambled to stop the

dozen people last night. police say she had a three year old with her in the car... who was not hurt. she was taken into custody. police are now checking to see if the woman had any drugs in her system at the time of the incident... again we want to pass along our thought and prayers to the victim, and to all of the other victims that were injured during this accident, our thoughts are prayers go out to the families. investigators are looking at surveillance video from the area... and interviewing dozens of witnesses. authorities are investigating a deadly crash in appanoose county... it happened along highway "j-5-t"... near centerville... early saturday morning. the iowa state patrol says 22 year old lucas buban was driving eastbound... when he lost control of his vehicle. buban was taken to the hospital but later died. he was not wearing his seat belt. a des moines teenager will answer to murder charges in court today. 17 year old josue socup is

two years ago hinkel became the 11th high school coach in@state history to win 300 games. he coached at madrid for 29 years... and once led his team to a state championship. authorities are investigating the cause of a marshalltown house fire... it happened in the seven hundred block of 4th avenue saturday night. crews arrived to find smoke billowing out of the home... but were able to quickly get the flames under control. they say the fire started somewhere in the kitchen area. damage is estimated to be around five thousand dollars. it's the last day to weigh in on the iowa d-n-r's proposed alcohol policy... the department says it's fielding a growing number of complaints... that's why its drawing up some guidelines for alcohol use at state beaches. and history shows that alcohol policies can be beneficial... back in 20-11... the scott county conservation board voted to ban it from a beach along the mississippi river. since then... authorities haven't had any issues with underage drinking.

there are no campaign stops currently scheduled from christmas eve through saturday. some des moines kids got help checking off their holiday shopping lists... 26 kids each received 4 hundred dollars to spend on gifts for their family. they all went from store to store at jordan creek mall over the weekend. the "neighbor to neighbor foundation" and "liberty ready mix" came up with the idea... and helped raise the money. most of the kids come from families that are in need... or were victims of violent crimes. some des moines residents are picking up a new christmas tradition... "first church of the open bible" has been putting on a light show for nearly 2 decades. but this year organizers decided to take it to the next level... by installing l-e-d lights that are synchronized to "98 point 5 f-m radio." they say they hope to help fill the absence of the popular "jolly holiday lights." flooding canceled the display for the rest of the season.
