the iowa democratic party has announced that it's found errors from caucus night...and that means its closest candidate finish ever is even closer. the party reviewed the results after some complained the results weren't correct. the party said sunday it looked into 14 of the more than 1600 precinct sites. it found errors in the final results in five of them. but the party says the announcement doesn't change which candidate won. but you can see how close it is. the new results show hillary clinton on top with 49 point 84 percent of the state delegate equivalents.. bernie sanders had 49 point 59 percent. however, the party has still refused to release raw total votes for each candidate. so we don't know if clinton actually received more votes than sanders
des moines police have ruled out anything criminal in the death of a well known metro business leader who fell from a downtown high rise this weekend. former principal financial ceo david hurd died saturday afternoon. the 86 year old died after falling from the plaza condominiums complex at 300 walnut street hurd had lived there with his wife. in a statement sent to us yesterday, the police department said...quote... "with respect to his close friends and family, we will reserve further comment until the investigation is complete. the police dept joins the rest of the community with mourning the loss of a respected community leader." the cy-ride bus driver charged in a deadly hit and run is set to appear in court today. 23 year old benjamin clague is accused of killing i-s-u freshman emmalee jacobs near campus last december. police arrested him more than a month later... based on evidence that includes video from inside the
community members in bussey are fighting to keep a corner store open. people would have to drive 30 minutes to the nearest town to get a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and we need this to stay alive. katy did's is the only convenience store in the area for 20 miles. kathy evans, owned it from 1997 up until three years ago... when she lost her battle to cancer. her daughter candy then took over but is now struggling to pay off medical bills and running the business. now, community members are lending a helping hand in order to keep doors open. the town found out about it and just spread like wild fire. as soon as they found the situation i was in, they wanted to help. they stepped up and started getting things done. so far candy and the community have raised about 50 thousand dollars. but in order to pay off bills and keep the store open, they'll need another
