billy napier. he was an assistant under swinney..the first few seasons after dabo was named the tigers head coach. now he's alabama's wide receivers coach. i talked to napier about dabo's coaching style. "i tell you what -- it's been great to watch dabo and what he's done with this program. you know -- he's done a great job and he's had a vision from the very beginning. i was fortunate to be there the first two years with him and you can see he was going to take action and step by step he's done a great job of putting his program in place and they're working at a high level right now rick: when dabo became the head coach, did you see anything back then that made you think -- maybe he can really elevate this program? napier: yea i did. i think more than anything dabo has a tremendous self- belief. i think he really believes in himself.
5:01 pm
background. he's a guy that's overcome a lot. he's done a great job of extending that belief to his players. and i think he has a good vision for what a good football program should be about. coming up at 5:30...napier will tell us that dabo didn't just start dancing this season. i'll see you a little bit later. back to you. thank you rick. it's now time to size up the match up between the tigers and the crimson tide. we bring in joe gorchow... who breaks down two of the featured stars in this national championship showdown. joe. one of the most talked about players heading into this title bout... heisman trophy winning running back derrick henry. he's a force on the ground when the rock's in his hand. by the numbers... he rushed for 2,061 yards this season... and set the sec single season record with 25 rushing touchdowns. here's the thing... clemson's sophomore

too. wayne gallman's the wayne train for a reason. he averages almost the same yards per carry as henry. he set the clemson single season rushing record this year. he may not be one of the top three backs in the nation... but he's in the conversation. the tough part for both these guys tonight... going against stout defenses. bama ranks number one in three major defensive categories.... including rush defense. the crimson tide certainly will try clemson's a top 10 defensive unit... the number one ranked third down defense... and they give up just around 20 points per game. it's about the trenches and will... when it comes to the ground game tonight... and putting up points. two great backs... running down hill against two of the best defenses in college football this season. should make for a great match up. tigers and tide fans certainly ready for kickoff

"--we have the heart and determination and i don't think it matters that not many believe in us, and i think we'll come out with the w" "i think we work better as an underdog, so bring on the doubters." going in line with those fans, everyone we spoke with today has been predicting a win, while making a little bit of college football history. in greenville, i'm joe murano
