reince priebus gets a big promotion. the kenosha native will be chief of staff ...for president elect donald trump. deandra corinthios is live in downtown milwaukee with the details. reince priebus grew up in kenosha...and worked at a downtown law firm --michael best and friedrich now the former republican party president elect donald trump's right -hand man. priebus took over the republican national committee in 20-11. he remained loyal to the trump campaign and has longstanding relationships with republicans, including house speaker paul ryan. he went to tremper high school in kenosha...and majored in english and political science at u-w whitewater. he was president of the college republicans at whitewater ...and went to school with with assembly speaker robin vos. a cudahy landlord now has the task of rebuilding after his garage goes up in flames... one person was taken to the hospital due to the fire. nicole joins us now with the latest. fire officials said a tenant was using a grill as a fire pit and knocked over some gasoline, causing the fire. this video was sent to us by a viewer. you see the flames and smoke pouring out of this garage near college and pennsylvania. residents who live next door say they heard a loud boom and walked outside to see flames. one person was with burns to their hand. the garage is a total loss. the owner tells us there was machinery stored inside the garage. he estimates that loss to be in the thousands. for the second straight week, the packers suffered a shocking loss..this time, at tennessee. the team is 4 and 5 for the first time since 2008. things just got off to a bad start for the green and gold...not able to produce anything on

deadly terror attacks in paris. to commemorate the occasion and honor the victims yesterday... dozens of people lined up along a canal in paris to float lanterns made out of paper. organizers say the lanterns were floated as a sign of hope. the 2015 attacks killed 130 people at the bataclan, the national stadium and and at cafes. french president francois hollande also visited those sites across the city -- laying wreaths..and plaques to honor the victims. isis has claie for the coordinated attack. a deadly earthquake rocks new zealand ... causing massive destruction. at least two people were killed in the magnitude seven - point -eight quake. nicole is in the newsroom with the latest. the quake damaged buildings and roads and set off landslides and even a small tsunami. the quake caused damage in wellington in the north, and was also strongly felt in the city of christchurch to the south. emergency officials warned people along the coast to move to higher ground to avoid tsunami waves.

a man is in custody in california for allegedly killing a stanislaus county sheriff's deputy. 37-year-old david machado was arrested after committing an armed robbery of a convenience store. police say that yesterday morning, machado sht dennis wallace. officials are calling the death an execution...and that the gun used was in direct contact with wallace's head. the deputy was a 20-year veteran of the sheriff's office. and an ohio prosecutor must now decide whether or not the case against a police officer charged in the shooting of a man during a traffic stop will continue. the former university of cincinnati officer was accused on killing an unarmed black driver, sam dubose, during a traffic stop last year. but prosecutors say the jurors

court filings show that the settlement covers 1-point-5 million vehicles toyota's trucks were subject to corrosion that could harm their structural integrity. the settlement applies to tacoma, sequoias...and tundra truck owners. toyota will inspect vehicles for 12 years from their initial sales or lease date to decide if the owner is eligible for a replaced frame or reimbursement. the company that makes splenda is suing dunkin donuts. heartland consumer products purchased splenda about a year ago. splenda to its customers... but it cut ties with the sugar substitute this year. the lawsuit claims the chain now offers a chinese-made off-brand sucralose... in yellow packets like splenda. in court documents-- heartland says it sent investigators to more than 70 dunkin' donuts stores around the country asking for splenda... but they were directed toward the chinese product. and sometimes restaurant staff also falsely indicated that splenda was used in its products. dunkin' donuts has not
