causing mps officials to reach out to several organizations including the naacp. they say its their responsibility to stand up for false statements made on students. the bar owner tells me this ad was created and designed to get the attention of mps administrators. this is an ad for sabbatic bar at walkers point. it reads 'sabbatic is for lovers' and in bold print: 'our back alley: where 50% of and end'. bar owner jay stamates is no stranger to controversy but the ad is causing him to receive a flood of angry calls and texts. it turns out a lot of people whove never come to my bar never been to my bar really are upset with me! for safety reasons he did not want to show his face on camera. he says his bar has been a victim of numerous crimes and he believes those responsible are students that attend bradley tech high school ...which

cooperation with mps wasnt there.' this is the alley where he says break-ins have occurred at his bar and the neighboring restaurant. fox6 reached out to milwaukee police who tell us in the 5 reported incidents they never found a connection to bradley tech high school students. --still stamates insists its students who are responsible for the crime and mps officials havent done enough to address the alleged problem... which is why he created a shock factor in hi a words and i am not going to sit here and defend the first amendment. it was rude it was crass...' in a statement mps acknowledges the magazine publisher and the bar owner have a right to freedom of speech but they see the ad as vulgar and tasteless saying quote-- we have a responsibility to speak out and stand up when false statements are made about our students. we will not stand by when they are degraded. we are reaching out to the naacp and lulac to discuss this with them. stamates says he wants to have a conversation with mps officials

in place for students after school -- then and only then-- will he promise never to place and ad like this again. live at walkers point i'm angelica sanchez fox6 news ted thanks angelica it's time for your news and weather together. the wisconsin department of justice has asked a federal appeals court to block brendan dassey's release from prison. dassey was convicted in 2007 of helping his uncle, steven avery, kill photographer teresa halbach. thi overturned dassey's conviction. and, this week, he ordered dassey be released while the state appealed the case. late this afternoon, the state filed an emergency motion with the 7th u.s. circuit court of appeals. the state asks for a decision on this appeal.. by friday afternoon. and politics, playing in a role in where some n-b-a teams are staying on the road this year. that includes the milwaukee bucks. e-s-p-n reports the bucks are canceling stays at trump-brand

williams has more, from dodge county. anybody thats lives here, or has spent any time here, will tell you, theres a major drug problem, in this city. and, now, were very excited about it. theres also a major bust. we have greatly diminished the availability of heroin, the availability of crack cocaine, in the beaver dam, and dodge county area. were very excited about taking her off the streets. she is lacresha lightfoot, also known as l-a. monday, following a traffic stop, dodge county sheriff, says the 27 year old beaver dam woman was arrested for various drug- related crimes... many of them involving an address at beaver dams' lakeshore apartments. wednesday, lightfoot is charged with 16 counts of manufacturing and/or delivering heroin and cocaine, and delivery of a counterfeit narcotic. she really was the go-to person, in dodge county, and in beaver dam. she had a number of people working for her, who we are actively working at bringing to justice, as we speak. sheriff schmidt says the 47-page criminal complaint contains

a little bit of wisconsin is making its way to washington d-c for the holiday season! a balsam fir from oconto is to arrive at the white house the day after thanksgiving. the nearly twenty foot tree was chopped down yesterday. the owners of the whispering pines tree farm will also head to d-c -- and present the tree to first lady michelle obama. "it's a dream. it's like a super bowl. it's like a gold medal at the olympics it doesn't get any better." twist in the brendan dassey case. will he get his freedom -- or stay behind bars? we have team coverage.. ben handelman is in portage -- where a judge ordered dassey released by friday. we start with fox6's myra sanchick in the newsroom with the move from the attorney general today -- that aims to stop dassey's release. just a couple hours ago the state department of justice in the seventh circuit court of appeals, asking that brendan dassey stay in prison while his case moves through court. all eyes are on this prison in portage. will 27 year old brendan dassey walk out to join his family after serving 11 years of a life sentence. dassey and his uncle steven avery were convicted of the 2005 rape and murder of teresa halbach. in august, judge william duffin

by investigators and his conviction was overturned. 90- days later.. on monday, the same judge ruled dassey be released from prison while the state appealed ?his earlier ruling. but that is still not the end of the legal wrangling. late wednesday, the state filed an appeal with the seventh circuit court in chicago. the past few months have been up and down and wonderful and dreadful and hoping and hoping brendan dassey's half brother says the first thing he wants to do is tell brendan he loves him and ug their thing. they're fighting and pushing hard but we want him out this week. in its appeal the state asks the appeals court to rule no later than friday. the same day the federal judge in milwaukee ordered dassey be released. and just before five o clock dassey's legal team filed a response in court, saying the state never said why they think releasing dassey would cause danger. live in the newsroom
