appeals in chicago-- arguing dassey should stay in prison until his case is resolved in court. dassey's conviction for his role in the rape and murder or teresa halbach was tossed out in august. the state has appealed. state prosecutors argue the lower court did not have the authority to order dassey's release and by doing so would cause irreparable harm to the case. dassey's attorney argues the state has not made a case to keep him locked up. his family hopes he'll be out by friday. it's one step cl step back. the state is got their do their thing and they are fighting but we want him out this week. dassey must be released no later than 8 p-m tomorrow unless the 7th circuit of appeals rules otherwise. the appeals court has been asked to make a decision before the deadline. and you can read the judge's order on our website fox6 now dot com.

yo archive" to check out developments in this story going back as far as 2003. a customer a customer is shot during an armed robbery at a cricket wireless store in west allis. this happened near highway 100 and cleveland deandra corinthios is live from the west allis police department with the latest police say they're searching for the shooter. the customer was taken to a local hospital...with a non life threatening gun shot wound... the cricket wireless store near highway 100 and cleveland wednesday evening. the shooting happened before 8 pm police from several departments...includi ng greenfield, new berlin and wauwatosa police as well as the milwaukee county sheriff's office....were assisting west allis in the search for the suspect. but so far no arrests. neighbors say it's not a bad area...and they're shocked by the news. and we are hoping from an update from police. at this point no description of the suspect is available. reporting live in west allis dc fox6 news and police continue to search for a homicide suspect who shot and killed an 18 year old yesterday afternoon. it happened near 68th and congress. police say it started with an argument...and the victim died at the scene. the suspect took off...and police have not arrests. two people are dead after a crash in sheboygan county. authorities say a driver failed to stop at a stop sign in the town of rhine-- colliding with another vehicle. an 80 year old man and 79-year-old woman were killed. both were from elkhart lake. the driver of the car that was struck is expected to be okay. an 18-year-old delafield man faces multiple felonies...for allegedly making and selling drugs. according to court documents - authorities caught on to 18-year-old

informant. police got a search warrant and found marijuana,...l-s-d and cocaine inside his home. that's on top of two different synthetic drugs. they say they also found quite a bit of drug paraphernalia. meanwhile in beaver dam-- the sheriff says they had a bust so big it will have a ripple effect across dodge county. 27-year-old lucretia lightfoot faces 16 counts related to creating and delivering heroin and cocaine. she's accused of running a large- scale operation, with multiple, lower-level distributors. accused of impersonating milwaukee police officers and holding another man at gunpoint are due in court today. police say zedric byrd.... justin figgs... and brandon streff.... went to a home near 67-th and carmen and told the residents they were m-p-d officers serving a search warrant. investigator say the three targeted the man who lives in this house because he allegedly shorted them on a quarter ounce of cocaine a few months ago. the alleged drug dealer they were after... is also in custody... their preliminary hearings are

red on traffic map = major delays yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays the minnesota police officer who shot and killed 32-year old philando castile during a traffic stop in july -- has been charged with manslaughter. saint anthony police officer jeronimo yanez is charged with second-degree manslaughter and two felony a firearm. yanez shot and killed castile after pulling him over for a broken tail light. castile's fiancee -- who live-streamed the aftermath on facebook -- says castile had a license to carry a weapon -- and that he had been trying to tell officer yanez about the gun. yanez is due to make his first court appearance tomorrow. a grand jury will hear evidence on whether the chicago police department covered up the shooting death of laquan mcdonald. dashcam video of the 2014 incident shows officer jason

as mcdonald walked away with a knife in his hand. the video contradicts officers' claims the teen lunged at police. a special prosecutor says the grand jury could begin issuing subpoenas next month. one person is dead after a large explosion in canton, illinois last night. fulton county officials say the blast damaged several buildings...and the surrounding downtown area was evacuated. 11 people were taken to the hospital..and one of the victims later died there. the cause is still under investigation. explosion leaves one person dead. the explosion happening in the town of spencer...and leveled a two-story brick home. fire officials say they havent yet determined a cause for the explosion, but they believe it was an isolated incident alabama officials want to know how an explosive device ended up outside of a school wednesday. a bomb squad blew up the device while the magnolia elementary school in trussville was on lockdown.
