minute holiday travelers are hitting the roads this morning to make it home for the holiday weekend. here's a live look at our d-o-t cam.. more than 48-point 7 million americans are expected to travel this weekend... making it one of the bustiest holidays in more than a decade. the majority of wisconsinites say they will be driving to family and friends. and there's a big upside this year: gas prices are the second lowest they've been since 20-08. the roads this holiday weekend too. last night - 35 departments in milwaukee and waukesha counties held a roll call -- ramping up efforts to crack down on drunk drivers. police will be out in force this weekend -- stopping and arresting impaired drivers. the task force arrested 300 people for impaired driving over the course of last year. they remind drivers to use services like uber, lyft, or to catch a cab. it's been a little more than two weeks since election day -- and

here in wisconsin. votes cast in the presidential election are being called into question by an unlikely source. nicole is in the newsroom with details on a recount request. the wisconsin election commission in madison says they are trying to get in touch with city clerks throughout the state to let them know a recount of the presidential race is very likely. someone on the ballot needs to initiate a recount... and that person will likely be former green party presidential candidate jill stein. the election commission says a representative from steins campaign state of their intention to file a recount... the green party has been vocal about starting recounts in three states... wisconsin, michigan and pennsylvania -- this after what they believe are anomalies in some municipalities results. they believe this could result in enough votes to put democrat hillary clinton ahead of president-elect donald trump. clinton has not expressed interest in initiating a recount... which is why the green party has stepped in. the group just launched a website ... hoping to raise roughly

paperwork is five p-m tomorrow. new developments in steven avery's fight for freedom. angelica is here with details. steven avery says -- it will be a happy thanksgiving after all. yesterday-- his attorney kathleen zellner tweeted out that a judge has given the go ahead for more testing in the murder of teresa halbach. avery has long-since claimed that manitowoc county officials framed him for her death. the case was chronicled in the 10-part netflix series 'making a murdere representing the state. and avery's nephew -- brendan dassey was hoping to out of prison and back home for thanksgiving. but last week an appellate court blocked his release --- even though his conviction for his role in the rape and murder of teresa halbach was thrown out in august. the 7th circuit court of appeals in chicago will now decide whether to uphold his conviction being overturned. there is no timeline when the 7th circuit could make their decision.

freedom. just go onto fox six now dot com. search "avery archive" to check out developments in this story going back as far as 2003. far as 2003. two million dollars --- that's how much the city of milwaukee must pay up. it all comes from a lawsuit involving an illegal strip search done by police. a federal jury awarded willie newman one-point-nine million dollars after he said he was the victim of an illegal strip search that happened in 20- 10. according to a federal complaint, newman milwaukee police officer michael vagnini and others. he says vagnini pointed a gun at him and strip searched him in the parking lot of a north side restaurant. newman's attorney says the verdict comes as a relief to his client. it restores his dignity and it was really appreciated and the jury did what we believe was a wonderful job.

businesses, they will then put pressure on the city to release details of the case. we've reached the highest level of frustration. so we're asking that the people join us in boycotting, and speaking from a financial stand point because i guess that is all they know. in milwaukee, a group is asking people to only support businesses owned locally by african americans. system is rigged and want to send a message with their money. we are learning new information about the school bus driver accused of causing a crash killing six students. and in michigan - new information on the police officer who was gunned down on the duty. jessob is in the newsroom with details. the wayne state university officer has now died after being shot while on patrol. officer collin rose was investigating possible car break-ins near the

the 29-year-old was then shot...and taken to the hospital and rushed into surgery. he passed away yesterday. a suspect has been taken into custody. and the shooting remains under investigation. rose was the fifth police officer shot in the line of duty since sunday. the death toll has now risen...in the wake of a school bus crash - earlier this week - in chattanooga, tennessee. police now confirming that another child--an elementary school student--has died. federal n-t-s-b investigators are the bus veered off a road and smashed into a tree. authorities are also looking into why the bus was driving on the narrow roadway...well above the 30-mile-an hour speed limit. investigators say the road was not on the bus' designated route. at this point, the 24-year-old bus driver is facing charges including vehicular homicide, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. and in new york --- an unprecedented amount of security is expected for the

research... looked through every ad -- picked your stores. now its time to head out black friday shopping. theres definitely a lot of people out theres definitely a lot of high energy. its the one day of the year known for the deepest discounts...and sale crazy shoppers. theyre designed to make it seem like everything is the best deal of the year. everythings on sale. expert with coupon sherpa dot com. shes here to make sure you dont get duped. so something to be aware of on black friday is something the industry refers to as derivative products. think doorbusters. so these are products that are manufactured specifically for black friday. and specifically-- items that have been made only to be discounted. often times some of these derivative products are missing some key features so that theyre less costly for the retailer once you hit those aisles...its tempting to want to grab every deal off the shelves. but experts say there are rules to black friday shopping to help you get the
