- kirk cousins connects with vernon davis for the touchdown. redskins go up 14 to nothing and go on to win big 27 to 10. breaking overnight.. leesburg police are investigating a late night homicide. officers were called to wythe court around ten last night for a report of a stabbing. they found a 47-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound. he was pronounced dead at the scene. police have not released his name. they say the scene is contained, and there's no ongoing threat to the community. they're asking anyone with information to contact them. two vigils will be held today for a d.c. teen who was murdered. 16-year-old zaire kelly was walking through a park wednesday night, when a robber approached him. kelly stabbed the suspect, who shot him. both died. a vigil for kelly will be held at four this afternoon at thurgood marshall academy in southeast, where he was a student. another vigil will be held at seven tonight, at 13th and downing streets northeast. that's where kelly was killed. new this morning..

are adding more money to the teetering health care bill. they're hoping to win votes from defecting g-o-p senators. the associated press reports, the new version would add 14-and-a-half billion dollars. that money would go to maine, alaska, arizona, kentucky, and texas. senators from those states have either said they won't vote for the bill, or are leaning against it. senators must pass the bill by september 30th. they can afford to lose only two g-o-p votes. and senators john mccain and rand paul have already said they're definitely voting "no." senators will discuss the bill this morning at a finance committee hearing. it begins at 10 a.m. a welcome sign after hurricane irma. a cruise ship, docking in key west. the much-needed tourism boost, coming up. eileen live tease

motive in a horrific mass shooting at a church near nashville, tennesseee. the suspect is in custody. police say 25-year-old emanuel samson shot and killed 39-year-old melanie smith yesterday. it happened at burnette chapel church of christ, as church was letting out. samson then allegedly shot and wounded six other people, before an usher tackled him. sa

right now it is not clear if the strain is transmittable to humans but as a precaution all swine at the frederick fairgrounds have been place under quarantine. this comes just days after pigs at the charles county fair were diagnosed with swine flu. as a result - activities involving swine at the calvert and st mary's county fairs have been shut down. this morning a woman in spotsylvania county is recovering after she was bit by a snake while dining at a restaurant. it happened last week as rachel myrick was at dinner with her family at a longhorn steakhouse. when she walked toward a set of doors inside - she says she felt something sting her foot. that "something" happened to be a copper head snake. by the time she realized what bit her, the snake bit her two more times. "i myrick spent the next five and a half days in the hospital and she won't be fully recovered for at least three months. longhorn steakhouse said in a statem
