school sex abuse case in prince george's county. this morning - a new lawsuit claiming the school ignored students concerns about deonte carraway. ryan hughes is live in the newsroom with more. this 72-page lawsuit was filed this week against deonte carraway, the prince george's county school board and the principal of judge sylvania woods elementary school. and we're learning new disturbing allegations of the sex abuse that took place. this lawsuit was filed on behalf of one of carraway's victims...only 9-years-old at the time. it calls judge sylvania woods elementary a quote unchecked breeding ground for sexual abuse by deonte carraway. the suit claims the principal and the school board were made aware of carraway's inappropriate behavior---yet no meaningful investigation or action was taken. the court filing also alleges nearly eight months before carraway was arrested...principal michelle williams met with the teacher's aide and raised concerns about inappropriate behavior with students...and documented the converstaion in an email. carraway was

february 2016 and was indicted on 270 counts of sexual abuse after sexually abusing dozens of students...and documenting the sex acts on numerous cell phones. two months ago he pleaded guilty to 23 charges and was sentenced to 100 years in prison. carraway is also serving a 75-year federal sentence. we're continuing to read through the suit...more details coming up. this morning - police are searching for a motive in a deadly shooting spree in northern california that could've ended a whole lot worse if it weren't for quick thinking by staffers at an elementary school. a guman killed four people in the rampage that spread across 7 locations. one of his targets was an elementary school..but he was unnable to get inside. once staffers at rancho tehama heard gunshots nearby..they quickly placed the schoool on lockdown.

shoot at a number of classrooms - hitting one student. police shot and killed the suspect a short time later after he crashed a stolen car. new overnight.. president trump appearing to express his condolances.. but for the wrong shooting! in a tweet just after midnight.. he said quote "may god be with the people of sutherland springs, texas. the fbi and law enforcement has arrived," many on twitter responding confused and critical overnight. and the tweet.. coming as the president is back in washington after a 12 day trip to asia. the president visited five-countries and held one-on-one meetings with 11 heads of state. trump said he will make a quote "major" announcement on trade and north korea possibly as early as today. now the latest involving roy moore. this morning.. the republican national committee is cutting fundraising ties with the embattled senate candidate.

republican is accused of sexual misconduct involving several women when they were in their teens. moore attended a church service tonight where the pastor said he is a man who will quote "stand the test of time." moore maintains his innocence and says he will not drop out. voters head to the polls december 12th. the house is joining the senate in requiring all members and staff take anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training. the announcement came after virginia congresswoman barbara comstock and a fellow lawmaker accused colleagues of misconduct. california congresswoman jackie speirer testified that she knows of two male colleagues, one from each party, that have engaged in sexual harassment. none of the lawmakers were identified by name.

to start up again today at inova fairfax, after a health scare. elective procedures were canceled yesterday.. due to a sterilization problem. inova tells us particles were found on instrument trays after they were sterilized. instruments were taken out of service - and the hospital says there was no risk of infection. it's believed this was a mechanical issue- but the situation is under investigation. again, inova should be back to normal operations today. a d-c firefighter who rescued a three-year-old boy from a burning minivan is talking about his life-saving actions. the van was parked outside a day care on nannie helen burroughs avenue in northeast, when it ignited. witnesses saw the smoke and called 9-1-1. captain mike basinger tells us that he thought it was a simple call, until he heard something he didn't expect. that's when the boy's mother rushed

supporters spilled into the streets. about 80 percent of the australian population took part in the survey.. with every state and territory returning a majority "yes" vote. politicians are expected to begin discussing the specifics of a same-sex marriage bill as early as this week. parents at one middle school in hopewell virginia are outraged after students were given a take home quiz that asked them to define terms they say were innapropriate. mistress, boy toy and trophy wife were all terms that appeared on a quiz handed to students in the school's family and consumer sciences class. now parents are asking why terms like this would be taught in a classroom. the teacher downloaded the quiz from the internet. the school released a statement saying the content of the quiz was not part of the curriculum and it was not in any way an appropriate learning tool.
