here's brandon orr. >> yeah we're looking at the cold hours moving through and as soon as the sun comes up our temperatures are going to shoot up into the 50s this afternoon. we did have flurries overnight. we're not seeing that anymore on precision doppler 12 h.d. in fact we're seeing a whole lot of sunshine. right now weather camera not seeing a whole lot of precipitation but we do have clouds around. thirty-one degrees so one degree below freezing. wind coming in out of the west at six miles per hour. a lot of us are at freezing or a degree or two above or below it. that's where we'll be much of the morning. we may drop before we get the temperatures up later today. we had flurries overnight over wilmington but look at the clouds in gray. the back edge is pushing closer to cincinnati.

lot of sunshine. that's why temperatures are up so high. fifties. no chance of rain today but that changes as we go towards tomorrow night. rain on the way. it's going to be very windy and that changes over to snow by the middle of the workweek. we have a very large storm system on the way during the workweek. >> many questions surrounding the death of an indiana toddler. a 3-year-old boy was shot and killed. now investigators are trying to figure out what happened. >> sheriff's deputies are being pretty tight lipped about the shooting investigation taking place down this long private driveway. the call came in just after 5:00 o'clock this evening. dispatchers in dearborn county said someone called 911 saying a 3-year-old boy had accidentally been shot.

that that child was shot with a three 57 magnum revolver and the child was shot in the chest. air care was called to take this child to the hospital but once deputies and other emergency personnel arrived it was determined that it was simply too late. the little boy had died. >> this is about as bad as it gets. for all emergency personnel you know with the sheriff department, police on the scene, e.m.s., anybody involved with this it's about as bad as it gets. >> detectives expect to be here for a little while longer as they wrap up the investigation. it will then be turned over to the deer born county prosecutors to determine whether or not

>> and boy you know we just love on them but they are so useful in what they do. you watch them like wow. all right. the weather. >> warm today. we're going to be in the 50s. huge change. we're done with the snow. we're so ready for that. >> we're ready for a warm up but there is snow in the seven day forecast. we see big warm-ups and cool downs but we got rid of the flurries. we had some near wilmington but a lot of those are moved out. we're looking pretty good for the day. in fact the back edge of the clouds are finally starting to approach cincinnati. you can see that here on clouds and radar. there are flurries that went through wilmington. clouds. it's starting to push into southeastern indiana we're going to see a whole lot of sunshine. on atrium weather camera if we had sunlight you'll be able to see a whole lot of clouds that's why international airport is

thirty-one degrees. so we're one degree below the freezing mark. i never seen temperatures this uniform in quite some time where they're all within a few degrees together warming up during the day. we're talking 5 degrees per hour as we go through the middle of the afternoon. forty-four by noon. fifty by 2:00 o'clock. we're headed to the mid-50s across the area today. especially since we're going to see so much sunshine. we're not going to see a whole lot of clouds like this morning because those are moving out in the next couple hours. down into the 40s towards 9:00 o'clock. so even later on this evening it's not going to get too chilly like now. a lot of us right around the freezing mark across the entire ohio river valley. we're looking for warm up. if you look closely we have 40s going up to tulsa through oklahoma. if we'd look at how this compares to this temperature yesterday morning it's about 13 degrees warmer so this really shows where the warm up is.

once we get the sun up you'll notice warm up big time. >> here's clouds. by 9:00 o'clock they're off to the east. we're looking at sunny skies into the afternoon. as we go into sunday this is where things get interesting. the winds are pumping out of the south sunday. that's what's going to bring us temperatures into the 60s on sunday with a decent amount of sunshine as well but these winds are going to be gusty between 40 and 50 miles per hour. we could see scattered power outages and a wind advisory issued later on today. scott dimick will be here later this afternoon and this evening when they issue this of wind gusts 40 to 50 miles per hour how it ahead of this cold front. the clouds increase sunday. i think you'll be mainly dry. this rain is moving in after 8:00 o'clock in the evening sunday with this cold front. notice how thin that band of

rainfall amounts around a quarter of an inch if that with this rainfall. the cold front moves through early monday morning. clears us out. we have rain drops for the monday morning commute. i think they'll be looking okay. we'll get a break before more heavy rain comes tuesday. we can't rule out thunder especially with temperatures near 60 degrees tuesday. after that cold front moves through we start to see bigger changes. thirty-five degrees is our high temperature wednesday. we see that transition to snow showers. we will have a lot of rain and it changed over to snow showers. we'll have another storm thursday. >> hitting the 60s let's you know spring is around the corner. >> we cannot wait. you're just about ready for that to push out. >> thank you brandon.

here's meteorologist brandon orr. hey brandon. >> spring is pretty close to it. march the 20th is when we hit the spring. it's already march and it's going to feel like it. we're talking about temperatures in the 50s today and 60s by the time we end out the weekend. we had a few flurries along wilmington and east. we're looking pretty good now. we do have a whole lot of clouds looking over downtown. so that's why their national airport has overcast conditions. listen to degrees is where it's sitting. they drop into the 20s. by sunrise and then temperatures will switch around to the south. 30s and wilmington they picked up half an inch of snow yesterday morning. we're at the freezing mark so we have clouds. there's those flurries. the back edge is starting to

it's about time to break out the bats. only if it felt like spring. it is not warm out here i'll tell you that but that's right. this morning starting at 9:00 a.m. the single home game tickets go on sale. i will tell you that does not include opening day tickets but you'll have the chance to get your hands on some of the best seats to some of the pretty exciting games they have lined up. this includes the reds hall of fame induction weekend june 24th through the 26th. that weekend they'll have a 1976 world series champion celebration and the reds hall of fame induction night to honor pete rose and they'll retire his number 14 jersey. there are new things you'll see at the ballpark a new private rooftop patio. there's also going to be an all you can eat stand for 20 bucks you can get a pass to the all you can eat concession stand.

morning they had a half inch of snow accumulation. certainly not the case. we're dry on precision doppler 12 h.d. and it will stay like that. here's the flurries. see it there in white moving away from us? now we're looking at the back edge of the clouds which is this dark gray. you can see it pushing closer to the tri-state and push into versailles around southeastern indiana so cincinnati is on the way. right now we have clouds on the way. thirty-one degrees is where we've been sitting pretty much all week long but for the most part we'll bottom out to freezing in most areas. we're seeing temperatures right around freezing or a degree or two below across the tri-state. very uniform temperatures. no frost. no fog out this morning. so we have a nice drive if we're going to out and about. lots of sunshine. fifty-two degrees by 3:00 o'clock. we're into the 50s shortly after the noontime hour. fifty-three will be our high right around four. later on this evening dropping

you can see temperature across the ohio river valley. we're into the 20s or 30s. we don't see a huge warm up yet. look off towards the planes. there's hint of warm stuff here. that's the fort fees going from dallas to tulsa. if you compare this temperature to yesterday morning it's about the same here in cincinnati. we're exactly this temperature yesterday morning but off towards the west we're tone 13 degrees warmer than yesterday so that is the warm up -- 10 to 13. especially since we're getting rid of these clouds so fast. you see the clouds? it puts us away from that. no clouds here. no clouds all across much the eastern third of the united states for the most part. so we're staying nice and sunny. winds switch south. they're going pump in warm air. we're talking wind gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour. even though there's not a lot of leaves on the trees it still could see scattered tree damage

we have seen that with this past storm system. earlier in the week we could see a pretty windy day. despite the weather for as much as sunday until we get this cold front moving on in. notice this band moves in after sunset sunday. so if you're going out later in the day sunday maybe sunday afternoon you'll we dry. it moves in sunday night -- you'll be dry. the monday morning commute we're left with a few showers and pavement is drying out. this cold front is not bringing too much cold air. fifty-three degrees today. plenty of sunshine. forty over night. sixty-six will be your high temperature. that rain moving in after 8:00 o'clock sunday night and monday. rain. the bigger rain will come in tuesday with rumbles of thunder. then the cold front moves through and we see a couple light snow showers on the back edge of that wednesday. you see snow on there on thursday. that's a separate storm system

once the clouds cleared out the temperature dropped. we're 30 degrees. we were sitting there all night long. now down 27. it's cooler in southeastern indiana where they don't have a lot of the clouds around. just starting to get rid of the clouds where temperatures are at 32. as i mention the flurries are out of here. they were up near wilmington. we're dry on precision doppler 12 h.d. here's the back edge of the clouds and they'll be away from us throughout the rest of the weekend so we're looking pretty good. in terms of the zone by zone forecast if you're in ohio it's looking nice so warm near ohio river. all the way to cincinnati. a little cooler towards clinton county. forty-nine degrees. if you're in southeastern indiana temperatures cooler in fayette and union around 50. near indiana 50s. that's what we have across northern kentucky.

as we learn more information on local 12. >> a fire at a northern kentucky fish fry sends multiple people to the hospital. this was taken by the wife of kenton county clerk john middleton. the fire did a fair amount of damage and burned through the overhead tent. this happened at saint barbara's church. nobody was seriously injured but it's not clear how it started. >> one woman is in jail this morning and charged with providing weapons the man who went on a shooting rampage in kansas. twenty-eight year old sara hopkins is accused of giving a firearm to fell loan cedric ford. he killed four people and police took him down -- a clue a restraining order filed by the gunman's former girlfriend. witnesses describe a very scary scene.

the clouds cleared out. we had clouds through the night which kept our temperatures around 32 degrees around the morning. once the clouds cleared out we were able to cool off the temperature. that's why we have a split from around 30s off towards the east but upper 20s from cincinnati towards the west. southeastern indiana 27, 28 degrees this morning. that's interesting. but at least the flurries are now gone. you see this showing up near wilmington. that's where one of our radar sites is and it's picking up on ground clutter. clouds are clearing out of wilmington as well. there's flurries last night. there's the back edge of the clouds pushing through. looking west see what's moving our way nothing. absolutely nothing. nothing out there to move in and we're going to stay dry. so this camera shot that we have on the atrium weather camera is on sky 64 near college hill showing no clouds in the sky today.

>> i've had about 10 surgeries. >> but lauren has gratitude to those who gave her the best medical care possible. those burns covered half of her body. she now has very pleasant memories of playing on play equipment that's here at shriners hospital and she says it's been quite journey to get to a better place but if she had to do it over she wouldn't change a thing and now she and her dad are giving back. >> you see there are 22 shriners hospitals now. 20 are in the u.s. one in canada and one in mexico. >> we provide care regardless of the family's ability to pay. >> to help with that lawyer rep became a shriners hospital volunteer -- lauren. the shriners raise money through events such as the shrine circus. >> shriners are a group of men ok and women who their journey and their goal is to help children.
