needs to be stopped quickly. sgt. dennis quinn, fort dodge police department: "the damage varied anywhere from windows being broken out of the vehicle, to some doors, looking they'd tried to be pried open with some kind of bar or something like that." a string of vandalism made for a long halloween weekend in fort dodge. sgt. dennis quinn, fort dodge police department: "some people say that it's somewhere between 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock in the morning, but some people don't know because they weren't out at their car." but it wasn't just small tricks. on saturday, vandals struck at least a dozen cars in the area between 14th and 19th streets and 2nd and 3rd avenue south. sgt. dennis quinn, fort dodge police department: "the geographical area of it all, it seems as though it was either one or two or three people working together and doing it at one time." it's not the first time the city has dealt with a string of destruction like this. police say just a few weeks ago, another five or six vehicles were vandalized in a one night span. lenin turcios says the

farther back. his tools were stolen from his garage... and his car broken into, which he and his cousin saw happen. lenin turcios, fort dodge resident: "there was a guy inside my car, trying to take my stereo out, and then he came out with a flashlight and the guy ran, and he couldn't catch him because he was so big and stuff like that." now, he says he has to stay extra alert, because the neighborhood seems to be a target for crimes of opportunity. lenin turcios, fort dodge resident: "there's some people, walking, not even on the sidewalk, they're walking in the middle of the street, trying to look in the cars, i think." it's meant taking a few extra steps, to keep himself safe while he's at home. lenin turcios, fort dodge resident: "you know, trying to make sure i have an alarm in my car and in my house, and after that, i should be all right." jacob/bam the department is asking anyone in the area for tips, if they know anything about what happened in the area. you can call either the fort dodge police department or crime stoppers if you have any information about the incidents. live in the studio, jacob peklo, local five news. we are iowa. nikki: des moines police are investigating shots fired in the south side. around 2:20 this morning, a witness told police she was sitting on her porch when she heard several

(music) but months later... there will be weddings in this buliding again -- but under new ownership, the harvest bible chapel church. the non-profit bought the building this summer. 15:33:52 if it can't be a gallery, the gortz haus gallery then this is the next best thing. former owners betty and dick odgaard know the church pretty well - they've been members for 8 months. 15:34:14 we are totally delighted with the

they preach the gospel. but still admit... this day is bittersweet. 15:33:55 to pass it over is difficult but we are proud of what it's become. anything less would have been harder. while there will be marriages here, they won't be same sex. the church and the couple see this as a message that they won't stand down from their beliefs... 15:35:28 this was the answer to our prayers, victory in our hearts. harvest bible chapel church says they gutted the basement, and made quite a few renovations. but there's a lot that will stay the same, 15:38:36 we love the history of this building, every part of it 15:38:40 we love this new chapter for this facility to be a church that once again proclaims the gospel. nikki: harvest bible chapel church will have services at 9 and 11 am on sundays. nikki/ots it may be past halloween but november first is another day of celebration-- the day of the dead. the festival is a

"its something we enjoy, yeah its a lot of work but its fun" from the mill to the alpacas, it's more than a full time job. but for the davies, theyre happy to trade
