to david. >> reporter: as we step outside we have rain pushing through philadelphia and northern suburbs trenton getting hammered and southern bucks county, as well. the lighter stuff to the west of us making roads welt. you might be seeing snowflakes mixing in. i've got rain on the terrace. but it's been looking like on 89 traffic cameras and our twitter folks are saying it's mixing in. ground temperatures are mild enough and we were mild yesterday where we don't think any icing will happen there. satellite view shows the rain chugging up the coast. it will slide to the east and we'll see drying. 41 degrees in philadelphia. down to 39 in allentown. 40 in wilmington, 45 in wildwood. as we roll through the day, 41 currently and about that by 8:00. noon, 46. 3:00 p.m., 49 degrees looks like we'll get a high of 50 that will hit around 4:00 p.m. karen, cooler air is coming in
overnight tonight tomorrow will feel a little bit on the wintry side. i'll have that in the seven day. >> reporter: we may have temperatures above freezing, but it's looking wintry, you can see the wet snowflakes coming down in chalfonte and bucks county. it's a puddle that's coming down. on the ground itself, on the highway it's becoming water out there with temperatures above freezing at the surface but the snowflakes are coming down in chalfonte 202 parkway at limb -- lime kiln pike. hunting valley, a problem closing red line road. we can see penndot on the scene with this one, this is penrose at the base of the platt bridge. if you're coming off the platt bridge eastbound you'll hit this delay, penndot is there and tow truck maybe they will move that out of there shortly.
belmawr, 295 southbound approaching 42 we have a disabled tractor-trailer off to the right. the speeds showing 55 miles per hour, might be approaching 295 southbound that you have the problem with that disabled tractor-trailer. matt and tam. >> police have arrested two suspects in a brutal attack on a woman in philadelphia's port richmond neighborhood. "action news" reporter, eva pilgrim is live outside special victims in hunting park with what happened to her and what she did next. good morning eva. good morning tam that woman was walk be home from the gym last night when she was sexually attacked and rob. police, as you mentioned arrested the two suspects. this happened on richmond avenue. police responded to the area after hearing her screaming. two men approached the woman
one had a a gun they took her wallet and cell phone and dragged her behind a building and sexually assaulted her. she called police, within minutes the first suspect was picked up, minutes later the second was arrested. they are found with the woman's items and positively identified by the victim. >> fortunately where the sexual assault and robbery took place by the train tracks, there are several businesses and large warehouses they have exterior cameras, hopefully these cameras recorded something they also help us with our investigation. >> reporter: now police tell us both of the suspects are minors under the age of 18 years old they are facing charges of sexual a assault and kidnapping. live at svu, eva pilgrim channel
6 "action news." >> police need your help in identifying a group of bandits in west philadelphia. they first struck philly pharmacy on the 9400 block of the boulevard and later broke into academy boulevard and got away with boxings of medicine. they were driving a white pick up truck and silver suv. investigators will pick through the rubble of a gas explosion in manhattan that injured four people critically. it shows the explosion and people running from the scene. plumbing and gas work caused the explosion yesterday afternoon. resulting fire destroyed two buildings. new york mayor said nobody is missing, however the family of a 23-year-old man says he has not been seen since the explosion. >> it is 6:05. there are still so many questions of the co-pilot of the
downed germanwings flight. they interview his parents and comb through his apartment for clues. friends say he was happy with the airline job. investigators say andreas lubitz locked the cockpit and reset the autopilot and set off the deadly decent. the main pilot can be heard on the voice recorder, frantically banging on the locked door. the co-pilot is heard breathing normally until the moment of impact. >> they are listening to the breathing and considering the pattern is consistent with someone who is conscious and alert and doing something they intended to. >> all 150 people on board were killed including recent drexel grad emily selke and her mother. stocks are in a fall because sellers want to sell and
buyers want to buy. >> reporter: futures are flat this morning as investors await news on economic growth. expect takes are for profits to fall, analysts predict profits will fall 4.6%. 83% of us have filed our taxes received a refund. the internal revenue service reports the average refund is $2,093. that's not surprising because those expecting to receive refunds file early. the cashiers at walgreens will no longer be thanking their customers for be well campaign. it's time for something different.

>> reporter: rain a bit of a pain this morning, storm tracker 6 live double scan showing we have rain continuing to fall across the central portion of the region. a little bit dry by the shore and dover delaware. there's heavy rain pushing away from philadelphia and coming down harold in area areas around trenton. there may be wet snowflakes mixing in. temperatures around 40, maybe a little bit below that, i don't expect this to be icing up on roads. fearcht -- in any event fairly wet conditions, you have reaciddal ponding and puddling --ding and puddling on roads. as we look outside we have wet conditions in center city. cloudy skies and breezy out there and overall we're looking
at a damp start and cooler day than yesterday. 41 degrees in philadelphia. 40 in wilmington. 39 in allentown. and trenton has slipped to 38 degrees with the heavy rain coming down drawing cooler air down from the surface. i wouldn't be surprised if there was a wet snowflake here or there. 44 in sea isle city. this is the new run it does look like by lunchtime most of the rain will be to the east of philadelphia and later in the afternoon we continue to see it push farther and farther off the coast. maybe a couple of late-day sprinkles at the shore. everybody's looking at drying conditions, we may see sun coming down through the northern and western suburbs later today. as we look at allentown, 49 is the high, morning rain, afternoon drying. hopefully the drying getting underway we're seeing a break currently. atlantic city, morning rain, cooler 50 degrees, there could afternoon showers scooting along the shore, as well. 50 is the high in philadelphia.
with the damp morning start a dry finish in the afternoon hopefully late day sunshine, wind breezy 8 to 16 miles per hour. as we roll through the day in the 40s most of the time. with the milder conditions and dry conditions, if you have optional errands you want to run, the afternoon will be better than the morning. high today 50 we'll be hitting that at 4:00 p.m. and sitting on it at 5:00 p.m. overnight the temperature drops by 9:00 a.m. we're looking at 36 degrees in philadelphia. down closer to the freezing mark in the northern and western suburbs. in the afternoon we'll get up into 40 ins in philadelphia. but the windchills will be in the 20s and only in the 30s in the afternoon. there might be a flurry or brief snow shower. tomorrow will feel like a revisitation of winter. 50 degrees is the high, cooling in the afternoon drying. tomorrow feeling like winter. high of 42, 20s in the

philadelphia neighborhood while walking home from the gym. eva pilgrim is live outside the special victims unit with more on this. >> reporter: matt, that woman was walking home from the gym last night when she was sexually assaulted and robbed. police have already arrested two suspects. this happened on richmond avenue in port richmond. police say two young men approached the woman one had a gun. the pair took her cash and cell phone before dragging her behind the building where there are railroad traction -- tracks where they sexually assaulted her. there are security cameras hind the buildings which police hope will aid in the attack. >> the victim said the male said if you tell police or anyone in your family about what happened we'll kill you and kill your family.
this woman was very brave. >> reporter: now within about 30 minutes of notifying police of the attack the first suspect was picked up minutes later. the second suspect was arrested. they were both found with some of other possessions and cash. the victim positively identified both suspects. we are told by police both suspects are under 18 years old. they are teenagers. they will be charged with sexual assault and kidnapping. eva pilgrim channel 6 "action news." brand new information on a developing story, "action news" has learned that two people involved in a triple shooting in west philadelphia has died. one of the robbers and one of the victims. it happened at master an conostoga street. two would be robbers tried to rob two men. the victim with the gun struck
the robbers. they returned fire striking the victim's friend. once again the armed man's friend has died along with one of the robbers. the armed man was not wounded. the other robber remains in stable condition. developing overnight there's a tragic conclusion to the three month search for a mice missing man from chester county. authorities from from wheeling west virginia identified the remains of paul kirchu. the medical examiner has yet to release the cause and manner of death. 19 people were injured four critically after a gas explosion leveled an apartment in manhattan. flames were as high as 350 feet and smoke could be seen for miles. the seven-alarm fire destroyed
two buildings. officials say a plumber had been doing work inside the apartment building before the explosion. >> as soon as i turn on second i heard a boom. it sounded like an internal boom, not that much, howfer you -- however you could feel the vibration. >> they made extremely dangerous searches of the buildings to search for any victims. >> officials say nobody is missing. the family of a 23-year-old man said he has not been seen since the explosion. we have more on the co-pilot who deliberately took down germanwings flight 9525. his colleagues said he was cheerful, others suggested he was suffering from depression. last night police carried boxes out of his home saying they made
