"action news" delaware valley's leading news program. with rick williams, sara bloomquist, and meteorologist, david murphy. good afternoon in the news, a new jersey man is accused of stalking and threatening a girl online. and a fire at a burlington county landmark. but the big story is a dramatic raid as police hunt down suspects in the paris terror attacks. gun fire erupted as police stormed an apartment in search of the ring leader, the attack left a few people dead and arrests seven others. it's still unclear what happened to the mastermind who remains a fugitive. the search remains for the
subject. marcy gonzales is joining us live from paris with more. >> reporter: good afternoon an absolutely dramatic scene this morning, several officers injured in that raid that went on for hours. gun fire -- and explosions echos through the early morning hours in the suburbs of paris. >> we felt the building shake and there were guys up there screaming shoot shoot shoot. >> storming an apartment just a mile from the national soccer stadium where the terrorists began. they thought the alleged mastermind, abdelhamid abaauoud, was hiding. a woman rushed towards them killing herself with a suicide belt and another suspect also killed and seven people taken into custody. this just one of nearly 120
searches across france overnight as police try to track down two of the accused terrorists that carried out the deadly attacks. >> it's like a tree growing, they have branches coming off as they pick up pieces of each raid. >> reporter: france's president reiterating this is a war with isis and now tripling their capacity with their air fight against syria. officials have not identified the suspects from this morning's raid or how they are connected to the massacre but authorities believe that this terror cell may have been planning more attacks. >> marcy thank you. meanwhile, isis has released a picture allegedly showing the bomb that brought down a russian plane over egypt. the islamic state says it was hidden in a soda can smuggled on
board last month. this after russian officials confirmed the bomb took down the plane and isis claims responsibility for the attack. a burlington county man is facing charges for allegedly stalking a 13-year-old girl online but that is not all. 23-year-old craig wyatt is accused of threatening to kidnap her and using that threat to get her to send sexually expoliceities photos. he now faces a long list of charges including 10 counts of manufacturing child pornography. that charge alone means he faces 10 to 20 years in prison if convicted. new jersey police are investigating a deadly accident on the atlantic city expressway it happened after midnight in hamilton township, one vehicle left the roadway and wound up in the woods and the driver was
pronounced dead at the scene, no word on what caused the driver to lose control. >> investigators point to their finding of an electrical cause for a fire last night. flames broke out at the historic morristown community house and the heavy flames and smoke and water caused damage. for decades it served as a venue for weddings, and nonprofits used it for meetings. it may be some time before the community house is back open. nora muchanic will bring us a live report from the scene coming up on "action news" at 12:30. another fire led to an early morning rescue in the overbrook section of philadelphia, a woman says she was sleeping when the blaze erupted at her long time family home. katherine scott was at the scene. >> reporter: everybody got out here and family members tell me
this home was in their family for decades, they were about to sell it and then this happened. the home across the breeze way also sustained damage, the red cross was assisting more than a half dozen people. the rubble still smoking hours after the fierce fire began, flames ripped through this overbrook home shortly before 1:30 this morning, tiffany brooker was downstairs when she heard the voice of her nephew and went down stairs and saw flames. >> i went down stairs to go to church and have a secret and i kicked the window so my aunt could get out. >> reporter: the fire started in the back room of the home of the 6100 block of columbia avenue and quickly spread throughout. the doors collapsed and windows
cracked. she was grilling last night and you can see a charcoal grill there. and she says it was secure before she went to bed. >> the grill was locked and covered and all i hear is glass breaking when i wake up, i come outside and the grill is on the ground. >> investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, one firefighter is treated and released from the hospital. in overbrook, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." accuweather now tracking heavy rain headed our way tomorrow, sky 6 hd shows us the view in center city right now, for now mostly cloudy skies across the region, lets get the latest from meteorologist, david murphy. >> they are approaching in advance of that system trying to make its way in our direction, it's producing problems in the southern portion of the u.s., this area highlighted in red,
earlier in the week this system produced tornadoes farther to the west and this is the area of concentration right now, the cold front is pushing towards the east and some bits and pieces could make their way into our neck of the woods later in the evening but the bulk of that precip holds off until tomorrow evening and the wide view on satellite shows you the clouds are fairly pronounced through the morning hours after a brief sunny start and we are expecting mostly cloudy skies the rest of the way with just a slight chance of a sunny break here off there. 51 in philadelphia and 58 in wilmington and 62 in millville. the winds are coming in off the ocean but not quite as much out of the northeast as yesterday. we'll add a few degrees to today's high temperature, winds are 9 miles per hour in philadelphia and 16 miles per hour in millville, it's cool and cloudy and a little bit breezy, you want to factor that in. 63 is today edwards high well

feel as you look at north broad street, the sky 6 hd looking north along broad, that is the way it will stay the rest of the way, but generally speaking the clouds will take over the afternoon. it is milder today and winds from the east-southeast at 9 miles per hour, so also a bit breezy, usually chillier in the lehigh valley, 55 in reading and trenton 62 and a pair of 61's in atlantic city and down the pike in cape may. satellite showing up on future tracker 6, what happeneds for the rest of the afternoon, the clouds hang pretty tough and there could be a couple of sprinkles or drizzle developing north and west of philadelphia late in the day or this evening, not a lot of this but it's possible you get hit with a quick spritz, still fairly
cloudy and dry with a slight chance of drizzle. up in the lehigh valley, lots of clouds and high of 58 degrees, we were stuck in the low to mid-50s in that direction yesterday. 63 is the high at the shore and lots of clouds there, and a bit milder. and philadelphia plenty of clouds the rest of the way and a slight chance of a sunny break here and there and winds running southeast 8 to 16 miles per hour. we get the frontal boundary from the west tonight and the flow of air comes from the south and we hold at 58 for hours overnight. mainly dry and very mild, in between the two forecast periods, we have the evening commute and it's generally cloudy and 61 by 4:00, and those numbers don't change much, 59 at 7:00 and probably still 58 by 7:00 or even midnight tonight, tomorrow morning, it looks like by 6:00, when he are on the air,
