good morning, everyone, it is 4:30, february 18. we're following a developing story, philadelphia police are looking for a gunman who killed a man execution style overnight. the search is on for a hit-and-run driver who hit a 3-year-old boy. people who visited with kaitlin jenner in university city described the experience. it's chilly out there, good morning. >> reporter: it's chilly, but we'll have more sunshine than yesterday. clouds are out west and we'll

>> reporter: traffic moving better in northeast philadelphia. this is woodhaven road near thornton road. we have an vehicle that ran into a building at 29th street. bucks county, this is i-95 business route 1, we have the construction, you can see the cones and the flashing lights. a little bit of volume slowing down around the construction, but not enough people to cause a big issue. we have an accident involving an overturned vehicle you want to watch for this in delran township, 130 new albany road, river road can get you around that. police are investigating a deadly overnight ambush, investigators say the a gunman shot a man execution style in west philadelphia. annie mccormick is live at police headquarters with the
details. annie. >> reporter: hi, matt, police say the victim never had a chance as he was ambushed as he got out of the vehicle this morning. police say a 31-year-old victim was killed execution style after he was shot multiple times at point blank range. when officers arrived they found the victim on the ground, seriously wounded. he was rushed to pen pretty bad hospital where he was -- pen presbyterian hospital where he was found dead. police he just parked his car. the victim exited the driver door when he walked on the curb, the shooter walked up within feet and fired at least 6 shots. it appears this individual was the intended target.
>> reporter: and police have not said at this hour if they have identified a suspect. we do know that the shooter ran north on 52nd street and west on delancy street. if you have any information you are urged to call homicide. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." thank you for that. and philadelphia police are busy with this they are looking for the driver who hit a 3-year-old little boy and took off. it happened at 6:10 last night on the 6300 block of ditman street in tacony. the young boy was taken to saint christopher's hospital. the boy was being pushed in the stroller by his father, the van hit the stroller and fled. police are looking for a green dodge conversion van.
a reading couple are accused of gambling leaving their children in the cold car overnight. the car was parked in the parking lot when the temperatures dipped to 11 degrees. a passer by is credited with saving a person in a wheelchair from a house fire in delaware. flames broke out yesterday afternoon. the flames were coming from the attic, firefighters placed the fire under control in 15 minutes. thanks to the passer by the person in the wheelchair was not injured. sentencing is scheduled for a man and his sister for a deadly shooting in delaware. david's mother was sentenced to life in prison on friday.
