it went out last evening and we didn't really see a whole lot of real strong action, a couple of you got a little bit of light pea sized hail and there was a brief wind gust with a couple of storms but that was it. this rain down to the south is pretty close by and it's possible that areas south of philadelphia get clipped with a little shower this morning. and the rest of us might see just a little spritz. 50 degrees beneath mainly cloudy skies in philadelphia currently. 51 in allentown reading and lancaster. 48 trenton, 49 millville, 50 in cape may so light jackets probably work this morning but you probably will want at least an extra layer. on the bus stop this morning mostly cloudy cool 48 degrees by 6 o'clock and by 8 o'clock probably still around 49. and temperatures aren't really going very far today. 54 degrees by 11 o'clock. 58 by 1 o'clock. there is the chance of some sun breaking back into play as we go through the day. i think the best chance is up north. philadelphia and areas to the south might eventually see it later. 3 o'clock 60 degrees and by 6 o'clock, 61 with a high of 62 probably not until about 5 o'clock this afternoon so

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live at one of the crime scenes in north philadelphia to explain. katherine. >> reporter: matt, police are still trying to work out the intricacies of this case and the time line here but no one was seriously injured. we're told the two police officers were taken to hahnemann university hospital where they're being treated and they are expected to be released. one of them does have a concussion but they are in stable condition. we're at the second of the two scenes in north philadelphia at 15th and parish and you can see there are several damaged vehicles here but this whole story is a little confusing so i'm just going start at the top. this all started around 2:00 a.m. at broad street and brown in spring garden. that's when those two plainclothes officers were driving back to central detectives in an unmarked
5:34 am
pickup truck when they were broadsided by another vehicle at the intersection. that striking vehicle took off. the officers were taken to the hospital almost immediately. now, at some point around this time, again police are trying to work on a time line, 33-year-old driver of the white ford that's here at this intersection pulled up to the scene of the accident and told police that he got scared. he told police he got out of his car for some reason. he left the vehicle in drive so the engine was running, the car was moving slowly and then two people separate from the first accident saw the car, they got in it and they took off. according to police, it was not a carjacking. the man was out of the car. they didn't really have any interaction as he told police. the vehicle went south on broad ended up here on 15th street driving the wrong way. they hit the moving car head on. there were multiple people inside that vehicle then hit a parked car. remarkably out of all of this nobody was seriously injured. police are looking for at

least three suspects at least one driver that was in that first vehicle that hit that unmarked police car and two suspects who stole this white vehicle and then apparently they fled on foot. they may have entered a nearby club. the only description police have right now is that one of them was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and when police went into that nearby club to look for them they did find a discarded red hooded sweatshirt. again this all remains under investigation. there are a lot of confusing pieces here that police are trying to work out. we'll bring you any updates as we get them. live in north philadelphia katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> thank you katherine. now to developing news in bucks county. police say a bucks couldn't mother has confessed to causing the death of her two-year-old daughter. details are coming out they are painful to hear. chance you have of a little bit of that popping through particularly in the morning. as we take a look outside we have cloudy skies over the airport. a little bit windy at times but not all that severe wind-wise today and generally speaking just cool and, well, cloudy. 50 degrees is your current temperature, some suburbs are in the 40's. winds east-northeast at 8 miles per hour so not all that strong right now. future tracker6 picking up the rain story and the cloud story. you can see how we are really under the clouds and as we go through the morning a couple of little sprinkles here or there through the main portion of the region. there is a chance of some of that sweeping through areas to the south maybe a brief hour long shower, something like that. then as we get later into the afternoon up until about 6 o'clock, there is the chance that we start to see some clearing and the return of sun. now i think the best chance of that happening is up in the lehigh valley and in the northern suburbs. it will happen sooner there but even by 6 o'clock there's the chance that we're starting to get some of that back in play. if we're real lucky we'll get it in by maybe 3, 4 o'clock.

clouds in the morning and eventually trying to poke some holes in the clouds in the afternoon. 49 degrees by 8 o'clock, 51 by 10 o'clock, by noon 56 degrees and we stay a loot cooler today. by 3 o'clock 60 and our high is going to be 62. he probably won't hit it until 5 o'clock. by then most of us are starting to see some sunshine back in. high temperatures across the region a little bit milder up north where we have that increased chance of sunshine a little bit earlier. 62 up and down the i-95 corridor. 60 in millville and the mid to upper 50's down the shore today. kind of cool. then tomorrow we've got a frontal boundary that's parked to the south today triggering the cloud cover and the instability pushing a little bit closer to us and away a wave coming along that will bring a round of rain. cool tomorrow a high of 61 degrees and some rain possible in the morning just briefly but the main batch of it probably coming in during the afternoon, maybe around two or 3 o'clock. you can see how it's not real intense but off and on showers straight into the evening. your exclusive accuweather
