department crews they are back out here in queen village on the southbound side of columbus boulevard. as of a half-hour ago, they blocked off the left lane. southbound columbus boulevard completely blocked, unlike the last couple of mornings when the left lane was getting by. fitzwater street, it's because of the break they had back on tuesday, they have been experiencing complications. columbus boulevard closed heading southbound toward south philadelphia. at this point the ramp from i-95 southbound to columbus boulevard is still open. if you exit there, you have to get on the northbound side, southbound is blocked. speaking of i-95, a broken down truck on the northbound side approaching the girard point bridge as you head toward broad street. the right lane is blocked, it will be sluggish come away from the airport. no sluggishness along i-95 at cottman, fourth lane opened that
helped us yesterday. we have a crash center avenue at easton road. there's one to avoid in lansdale montgomery county athine street at 5th street. high and franklin fire, instead of high stay on the industrial highway and beach street. i know you have details on what's going on in pottstown. >> we do, it's our breaking news story, a fire ripped through an apartment building in montgomery county. one person did not make it out in time. and is live at the fire scene in pottstown with more details. annie. >> reporter: matt, i want to start with an update that we received from the red cross, they say at this time they are assisting 6 families and 17 people all that are now without homes because of the fire. some of the residents talking to us this morning and telling us they had to make sure everybody got out.
sadly, though -- [inaudible]. fire trucks near the corner -- >> we kicked the door, kicking like that, a big cloud of smoke came rushing out at us and engulfed us, flames came out there. he lost his life, i can't get him out. >> >> reporter: back out here live, i know we're having audio problems, it was after 1:30 a.m. the firefighters arrived east high street in pottstown that's where they saw heavy fire and smoke on the second floor. the blaze escalated to two-alarms, there were reports of people trapped inside. everybody did escape except the one person who was discovered on the second floor of the building. back out here live, this
building where this happened, it's a home, however it has been converted into several apartments. again, at this point the red cross announcing they are helping of families including 17 people. reporting live in pottstown, and channel 6 "action news." back to you. >> thanks, annie. also breaking a frantic search is underway for two men who burst into this house and shot a woman inside. two men knocked on the door on east allegheny avenue in kensington at 11:30 p.m. the men forced their way in and demanded money, she was shot in the arm in a struggle. a woman and child were in the house they were not hurt. prior to home invasion, they knocked on the neighbor's door and asked for something -- somebody they didn't know. she lambed the door. -- she slammed the door. a vergele was held for --

construction pattern, it's because of an accident. i-95 northbound past the cottman avenue on-ramp, left side of the road is blocked heading toward academy. you can see we're stacking up pretty quickly as you can through north of bridge street at cottman avenue. accident i-95 northbound past cottman. our broken down truck i-95 northbound at the girard point bridge is gone. however we have that broken down vehicle by saint charles borromeo seminary at latches lane. chopper 6 hd high in the sky over queen village. this is columbus boulevard, the water main break from tuesday, repairs are on going, as you can see this morning there's no southbound traffic getting by, only northbound lanes are open columbus boulevard near fitzwater street. at this point, they have the off ramp from i-95 southbound to columbus open, but if you exit there, you have to go north, you can't go south because columbus
boulevard is blocked. crash center avenue at easton road in willow grove. an accident 113 at bridge road and creek road. >> fire breaks out at an apartment buildings in montgomery county while server people were inside and one of them never made it out. annie mccormick is gathering information at the scene in pottstown and joins us live this morning. annie. >> reporter: matt, the red cross said they are assisting 6 families including 17 people in total that are without a home because of fire. one neighbor did not make it out alive. there's still fire activity here because they are early in the investigation. the fire marshal is on the scene, about a half-hour ago, the coroner arrived on the scene. well, take a look at the video, this is video from earlier. the fire broke out before 1:30 a.m.
firefighters arrived to the 400 block of east high street. from the second floor they saw heavy fire showing and smoke. the blaze quickly escalated to two-alarms. there were initial reports of people trapped inside. everyone escaped, except for one person who was discovered dead on the second floor. we talked to residents many telling us they try tried to get everyone out by knocking on doors. >> pull into the driver way, i see smoke, i run into the back door, i have a 6-year-old and 8-month-old, i run upstairs to the third floor, on the third floor there are kids upstairs, i'm banging on that door. we come down and i see smoke i tell the guy, kick the door, kick the door. >> reporter: back here live, fire officials say there was a quick response because the units were coming from a previous call. there were several converted
apartments within the buildings. fire officials and fire marshal are still going through there, they have not released the identity of the person who was killed. reporting live in pottstown, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. new this morning, police say this man and woman ransacked a montgomery county home while the mom living there with her newborn child was inside. arrest warrants were i should for stephen gibson and helen anne grant. the couple had a gun when they forced their way into the home. they got away with cash. the victim knows the suspects. she and her child were not hurt. authorities want the public to keep an eye out for this woman, sara packer is charged with child endangerment in connection with the death of her adopted body. the body of grace packer was found in a wooded area in

littering. in cell phone video the officer asked why she had not taught the boy not to litter. an argument escalated and vague and her 19-year-old daughter was forced to the ground and handcuffed. the second daughter who swore at the officer was arrested. the officer is on restricted duty while internal affairs investigates. authorities in arkansas have arrested this suspect wanted for the road rage shooting that killed a little boy. 33-year-old gather holmes turned himself in last night. 3-year-old was riding in the back of her grandmother's car on saturday when he was shot. he was upset when she was not driving fast enough. he as is being held on terroristic acts an capital murder. a pizza shop is known for spreading the warmth they decided to reward the customers by holding a contest for three pizza a year.
