early, clouds pushing in from the west, clouds and sun mix today. the rain hangs off to the north. temperatures, very mild, 53 degrees in philadelphia. mild in allentown and reading, 60 in reading. 57 in allentown. 51 in trenton, 53 in millville. 47 cooler down near the cool ocean water. winds are not strong we are expecting them to stay on the light side. only a five mile an hour wind in philadelphia. 53 by 7:00 a.m. marching up to 71 degrees by noon, high of 75. if we hit that it will be a new record in philadelphia by one degree and 5:00 p.m. holding on to 70 before sliding back into the mid 60s by 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. tonight i should say. warm today, it's going to be another mild one to start out the weekend, there is the threat of not only rain coming through later in the day, perhaps a gusty thunderstorm, i'll have the details on that and the complete weekend call coming up from accuweather.

>> reporter: we're starting in new jersey, we're seeing traffic move right now, a minute ago there was a line of traffic backed up on 42 northbound between creek road and 130, they are shutting the highway down for ten to 15 minutes at a time. that's why we saw the long line of traffic it is moving as we just reopened it. scheduled to clear by 5:00 a.m. vineland, cumberland county issues over with a fire on west landis road near orchard road all lanes are blocked. stick to sherman avenue. liable on the vine street expressway no traffic everything is shut down until 5:00 a.m. watch for the construction still there. the walt whitman bridge in both directions two lanes and speed restrictions in effect, watch for the crews on the walt this morning. >> back to the breaking news you mentioned, heavy fire broke out at a cumberland county hotel, firefighters called for help and went into rescue mode. annie mccormick is live at the

ramada inn with the details. >> reporter: matt, moments ago i talked to fire officials they told me the fire is under control. you can see behind me how firefighters are still attacking this from the ladder here, still pouring water on top. you can see the portion of the ramada inn through the roof looks like it might be in the top floor and attic area that's where the fire mostly was. i want you to get a look at the video, this is video from a viewer showing the intense flames that were shooting through the roof. we are told that the fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. at the ramada inn in vineland in the 2200 block of west landis avenue. when firefighters arrived they realized it was going to be a stuff fight. almost 2 1/2 hours to get it under control. they had to call in extra help that's why it wasn't to second alarm. dozens responded out here. now, in a situation when you're dealing with a hotel or motel

that's where you have to make sure everyone is accounted for. according to the website to the inn there's 100 rooms, we are told by fire officials moments ago everybody was accounted for, they have been done the searches. there was a person not in the room, they received information that the person did leave the hotel. they are confident that nobody is in the hotel that is in in danger or anyone unaccounted for at this time. we'll speak to fire officials to get more information. the fire is under control with two-alarms bulk of the motel is still damaged. this is severely damage looks like part of it is actually destroyed. we'll have more information in the next half-hour. opterring live in vineland, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news" back to you. >> developing this morning, a hit-and-run driver left a man in the road in kensington.

the victim was rushed to hanheman in critical condition. katherine scott is live with the latest, good morning, catherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, police did locate the striking vehicle overnight that happened before 1:00 a.m., it's been towed to a police garage for evidence, but the search continues for the driver this morning. meanwhile, the 43-year-old victim is in hanheman in critical condition. let's go to video from kensington last evening. it happened at 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of emerald and clear field. the victim just left a corner store. he was walking across the street from his home he feels feet from the door when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east on clear field. the car did not stop. when police arrived they found a man lying in the street, he has two broken legs and head trauma. police have surveillance footage of the incident, they have not relead and they have interviewed -- they have not

released, they have interviewed witnesses. >> when the vehicle struck the pedestrian, the body rolled on the hood striking the windshield, his body was launched 50 feet eastbound and that's where police found him. >> reporter: shortly before 1:00 a.m., officers located the striking vehicle on the 3,000 block of martha street about half a mile from the site of the accident. this all remains under investigation. so far no arrests have been made. they are still trying to figure out who was behind the wheel. they said they would like to talk to the owner of the vehicle. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. children playing along the bank of the cobbs creek stumbledded a-- stumbled across a body. the man was found connecting upper darby to cobbs creek. this was the scene around

the 800 block of east 23rd street where police say someone shot two men. they were rushed to christiana hospital, police have not made any arrests. a robber stabbed a man at the bus term flail is at the jersey shore. wildwood police are looking for ron ray harris. investigators say he held up a man at the new jersey transit bus terminal at 4500 washington avenue. wildwood police consider harris armed and dangerous. call them if you know where's. this composite sketch is of the man police in gloucester township say tried to abduct a woman. officials say she was outside the home in sicklierville when the man tried to pull her into the car. she was able to getaway. the man was in his 20s and drives a white suv. a former school employee is facing sex charges. 35-year-old mya johnson worked

at rose month township. earlier this month, a teacher at the same school was arrested for carrying an alleged sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student. police say the two cases are not connected. a medical marijuana grow house is one step closer to opening in delaware county. the astin board of commissioners included med garden in the industrial park. last night was a personal victory for jennifer mckey her father survived his battle with cancer, she wants to get others the help he didn't have. >> any relief we can provide to the sickest people in pennsylvania is a good thing for all of us. >> mckey has three weeks to submit her permit application to the state and the state has 90 days to review.
