coast and we just have a little bit more to deal with. after that some sun comes back today and there will be some addition in ally shower and thunderstorm activity around but it's pretty spotty. here comes the lull. we'll see some breaks after we get finished with this morning rain and there's that additional stuff coming in for later this afternoon. temperatures on the bus stop right now not too bad. before we head to that we'll mention there is a flood advisory from the heavier rain up and down the coast near brigantine and around bensalem over toward mercer county. i expect too he is flood advisories to drop pretty quickly. as we take a look at temperatures 60 degrees in philadelphia, 53 allentown, 57 trenton, 56 in wilmington and we're only at 51 degrees in cape may. certainly no need for heavy coats though then will continue to be the case this afternoon. 63 by 7 o'clock. up to 67 degrees by noon. again, some sun coming back but by 3 o'clock all the way up to 75 degrees for a high and as late as 7 o'clock we'll still be holding onto the low 70's. again a spotty shower or pop-up thunderstorm is possible but not raining all
the time and karen best news of all, we are going to get some sun mixed with those mild temperatures. a beauty tomorrow, more rain thursday, details coming up. what have you got there my friend. >> well, might be nice later but right now we have the roads that are wet and already an accident involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer. it's involving another tractor-trailer as well. police are on the scene. this is all creating a problem right in a busy area, i-95 southbound approaching cottman. now the two left lanes blocked. as i step aside you get a sense of how jammed traffic is right now even at this early hour. at this be point i-95 southbound approaching cottman a jackknifed tractor-trailer, another tractor-trailer involved and police on the scene that's slowing you down. over all on the big picture you can see that's the only issue here. blue route, schuylkill moving pretty nicely. speeds in the 50's but there's a lot of water on the roads so just be careful. we have an accident just popped up over here in wyncote and this is cheltenham avenue at ogontz avenue so watch for crews on the scene there. live on the roosevelt boulevard at fox street you can see the roads are wet. southbound traffic showing
it's moving okay but you're traveling through the ponding and the puddling on the roads and with mass transit you want to watch out, issues now northeast corridor on a holiday schedule after yesterday's train derailment in penn station still impacting you today. expect overcrowding expect delays. not on their regular schedule, they're on a holiday schedule new jersey transit northeast corridor also cross honoring ticket if you want to take new jersey transit buses as well. paoli thorndale 12 minute delays right now matt. >> got you karen. thanks. gunfire erupted near a north philadelphia school k a third person has died. one victim remains in the hospital. detectives found two dozen bullet casings scattered across the streets. "action news" reporter katherine scott has this morning's latest upday. that's right four people were shot yesterday. we learned early this morning that a third person died from their injuries. so far no arrests have been made. let's go to video from north philadelphia. the shooting happened
yesterday afternoon around 3:30. around two dozen shots were fired. this happened at harrison plaza public housing on the 1100 block of west styles. detectives believe two shooters today imfrom the -- came from the east of the seen. four men were hit. they range inch from 25 to 30. two were pronounced dead at the hospital within about a half hour. early this morning we learned a third victim succumbed to his injuries. a fourth victim is listed in critical condition. so far no weapons have been recovered. drug paraphernalia was found at the scene but it's unclear how or if it was related to the violence. city council president darrell clarke is outraged about the gunfire in his district which broke out as school children were being dismissed about a block away. >> i think it's time to go to court again like we did before. maybe we'll be successful with a new administration, new regime in the attorney general's office, a new mayor a prepared to do that again.
something has to be done about this madness out here. >> reporter: and so far there's no word from investigators if they have any surveillance footage that can help in this investigation. live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. matt. >> thank you, katherine. karen just mentioned this. amtrak riders who take the busy northeast corridor can expect delays this morning. it is because a new jersey transit train derailed yesterday at new york city's penn station. five people suffered minor injuries. amtrak says because of reduced track capacity the northeast regional service will operate on a modified schedule with reduced frequencies between d.c. and new york. nj transit will continue to operate on an adjusted schedule. some trains are on a holiday schedule. no word on how long it will take to repair the tracks. >> time is now 5:05. the father of a two-year-old who accidentally shot himself to death will spend at least a year in prison. nicholas while lee of quakertown pleaded guilty yesterday in bucks county courtroom. he was charged with
involuntary manslaughter child endangerment and reckless endangerment. prosecutors say while lee left a gun out on a night stand at his parents' home in september. his son benjamin found the gun and shot himself. while lee was sentenced to a county prison term of almost one year to almost two years. the trial will continue today against the three teenagers charged in a howard high school fight in wilmington. 16-year-old amy joyner francis died after she was attacked in a school bathroom. an autopsy found that she had a preexisting heart condition and she died of sudden cardiac death triggered by the fight. opening statements in the trial started yesterday in family court. >> the search continues for three boys who police say abducted and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in the city's hunting park neighborhood. the action cam was there as city workers were back at the abandoned home where it happened yesterday boarding it up and making sure it was secure. the attack happened around the 1300 block of west butler street on sunday evening.
police say a 13-year-old girl was walking down the street when three boys grabbed her and took her to the abandoned house. she was taken to saint christopher's hospital for children for treatment. firefighters are still working to find out what caused this bucks county barn to go up in flames. chopper6 was over the fire scene in the 200 block of smith school road in perkasie. it broke out at 9:00 last night. it contained bales of hay and that al you load the flames to quickly spread. >> let's say hello to mr. dave murphy. >> you have good news. >> generally little bit of rain still out there right now. tomorrow is going to be gorgeous. storm tracker6 live double scan right now shows you there's a bit of rain. we'll take a closer look in a second. let's get you outside, sky6 and there's cloudy skies and center city looking kind of wet. not a whole lot of movement on your flags of nations up and down the ben franklin parkway, though as the winds are not all that strong. closer look at the rain in the i-95 corridor and there you see it, philadelphia in a bit of a lull but obviously the
roads are still wet from the heavier stuff that came through overnight. a couple of slightly heavier cells coming right up the new jersey side of the delaware river south of philadelphia. that might cross over a little bit. and then out in the immediate western suburbs places close to norristown up and down the top of the blue route, back by malvern and then into maryland you've got a couple of those showers some of this also passing up toward doylestown. this will be out of here over the next couple of hours and by 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock we'll probably not only be drying out but brightening up a little bit. as we take a look at temperatures we're at 60 degrees in philadelphia so not too shabby out there. no need for a heavy coat. excuse me. even in allentown 53 degrees. 56 in wilmington, 57 in trenton. 56 degrees in millville. 64 currently in dover. very mild down in central delaware. future tracker6 by 5:00 a.m., up until 9:00 a.m. shows you how things are going to start to dry out a little bit. some brightening in the skies possible. as we get to 12 o'clock it looks like we don't have a lot of rain perhaps some sunny breaks and later in the afternoon we're actually
looking at the return of quite a bit of sunshine but at the same time there is the chance of another shower or spotty thunderstorm popping through. obviously things do improve later in the day however. in allentown we'll go for clouds giving way to increased sunshine, a spotty shower or a thunderstorm and a high of 70, nice and mild. down the shore, also the chance of a spotty shower around but some sun returning later on and a high of 64. and in philadelphia, clouds giving way to more sun later, a shower or a thunderstorm o can't be ruled out during the afternoon and a high of 75 degrees getting a little bit blustery at times as we get past sunrise and into the afternoon. then overnight clearing, breezy, 52 degrees the overnight low. tomorrow 68 degrees, lots of sun but there is a storm system lurking to the south that will be here in time for thursday and it will cloud us up make it windy and rainy and we could have strong storms, your high of 63 degrees on thursday. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast shows that mild high today of 75 degrees. after some spotty morning showers and a couple of afternoon spotty showers and
thunderstorms we'll probably see some more sun coming back. tomorrow is the pick of the week, wednesday 68 degrees, lots of sun might even get 70 in a couple spots and then thursday look out. periods of rain and a strong gusty thunderstorm is possible on thursday. 63 degrees. these are the sorts of storms that could theoretically trigger a thunderstorm warning here or there. at some point on thursday afternoon. friday the phillies have their home opener. you'll want to dress warmly. spotty shower possible but i think they'll get the game in. 51 is the high. 55 on saturday, clouds to sun. good for the union and phillies at night an beautiful day on sunday. >> i'll take the warmer weather with anything it brings. >> all right. >> she likes sun reyes. >> i like that. i'm going to go with that. >> is that the first time you've heard that. >> the first time i've heard it because only you are that clever. >> he's a very smart guy. >> you will do well around here jeanette. >> thanks, david. your time now 5:10. it's being called an incredible rescue. two men survive a plane crash in a remote area.

[laughter] >> problems on the roads. it was brief. hope you enjoyed it. this is i-95 southbound here approaching cottman. we've got a jackknifed tractor-trailer blocking the two left lanes. now hearing there's a diesel fuel spill here as well so there's going to need to be some cleanup. if this would be out here a little bit longer it's going to mess things up on i-95 because this is one of the areas we first start to see delays. not just yet but in a little bit on i-95 southbound approaching cottman. even though you wouldn't normally see a delay right now with the two left lanes blocked traffic just squeezing by at this point and it is causing a jam on i-95. exton chester county you can see the roads are wet.
this is route 100 at commerce drive. no other major issues coming down from chester springs. you just have wet roads. slow it down. we have an early morning accident in wyncote cheltenham avenue at ogontz avenue. construction crews are blocking a lane on the turnpike westbound again between fort washington and norristown. let's show you what's happening with this rain. so that really heavy rain that's forecasted, that already moved off the coast. that came over in the overnight hours but right across the i-95 corridor talk about location in a busy area here along i-95 we're starting to see some heavier rain fill in so it's up near norristown willow grove on the blue route here and near the schuylkill at conshohocken. we're looking at a spot on i-95 just south of media. in new jersey in gibbstown and woodbury you've got some wet roads there along 295 as well as cherry hill. so, watch for those showers moving through. but it's not going to be a washout of a day. 60 degrees right now. temperatures a lot milder than we were yesterday morning making it up to 75 with spotty showers and thunderstorms around today, a few of them,
matt. >> okay, thank you, karen. new this morning, firefighters in los angeles are monitoring hot spots after they spent hours putting out this massive blaze. flames erupted at this food processing building last night. a gas line in the ceiling helped fuel the fire. at one point nearly 200 firefighters were on the scene. all of the employees got out safely. investigators are working to find out how it started. >> well, two men whose plane crashed into the olympic mountain range in utah are improving. the small aircraft crashed into the mountain or valley right up to its wing when it went down. a search and rescue crew from the navy were able to locate the plane. medics had to rappel down to access to hoist them to safety. one medic describes what it's like to get a call like that. take a lift the end. >> any time we hear a plane crash generally that comes with very grim outcomes. to go on scene yesterday and find two survivors is very uplifting as a crew.
>> incredible. the crew credits the pilot's red shirts for helping them find the plane in a massive field of white snow pack. authorities say the pilot had made a distress call moments before crashing. >> the north carolina tarheels won their sixth ncaa basketball championship. unc beat gonzaga if un-65 in glendale, arizona last night. it was a crushing defeat for the bulldogs who were appearing in their first ever title game. north carolina calls the victory redemption for last year's defeat by, yup, villanova. >> assistant coach, coach rob just said remember that moment and how we felt last year and we don't want that again so we just got to give it our all and that's the moment where we locked in and we went out there and just gave it our all literally. >> remember villanova beat u in. c on a buzzer beating 3-pointer last year. the wilted wildcats lost in the second round this time around. the phillies faced a

in some neighborhoods but mild temperatures in the low 60's and climbing into the 70's later today. 63 degrees by 7 o'clock. 67 by noon. there is the chance of a spotty shower early and maybe an early afternoon shower or thunderstorm. but most of the time it's dry. we get sun back in play and how about a high of 75 degrees this afternoon. overall it's not going to be a bad afternoon to go out and get stuff done. at the airport we're hoping for all green aircraft which would mean no major delays. that's what we've got. but right now you have rain here and off the coast of boston and at j.f.k. >> thanks, david. people in alabama might want to consider taking a breather. a new study ranks it as the most stressed out state. the study looked at several factors like health, how much people slept at night and how many hours they worked each week. the least stressed state is minnesota maybe no surprise there. pennsylvania ranks 28th and delaware came in 29th. new jersey was less stressed out, coming in at 41 on the

>> ♪ >> welcome back. a live look at the beautiful center city skyline. it's going to be a wet day today. it is now 5:27. >> all right, jeanette let's turn to the morning buzz here. it is considered one of the world's toughest ultramarathons and during this year's race only one person was able to complete it. this is why. runners only have 60 hours to finish the 100-mile marathons with a s. runners race up and down the steep cliffs of frozen head state park in tennessee. john kelly was the only runner able to finish yesterday. did it in 59 hours 30 minutes just in time. the look at kells legs and shoes and his face. they all show just how difficult these five 20's mile loops really are. there was heartbreak at the end with one runner collapsing
