sluggish speeds on 40, harding highway. new schedules are in effect as of yesterday on the regional rails. new schedules on patco. when your train is not showing up when you expect i had or when it did last week, that's why. >> breaking news, a 22-year-old shot and killed this morning, the suspect tried to escape, but was nabbed by police. the shooting inside a boarding house in germantown section. katherine scott is live at police headquarters with more on what happened, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, police say an argument turned into a deadly shooting inside a boarding house in germantown overnight. a 22-year-old man died, a 28-year-old man was taken into custody and brought here to police headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives. let's go to video from the scene in germantown overnight. this happened around midnight. shortly after midnight in the third floor bedroom on the unit block of east penn street. the victim was shot multiple
times hit in the torso, arms and neck, he was pronounced dead at the scene. officers were called after the shots were fired, after they got there they approached the building from the front and the side and they saw a man running out the side door. they saw he had a gun in a holster in his right hip. police told him to freeze and he did and he was taken into custody. there were a number of witnesses who were taken to headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives. >> the 27-year-old man was identified by witnesses who said he had just shot a 22-year-old man in the third floor front bedroom. >> reporter: police recovered a handgun, they believe that was the murder weapon. live at police headquarters, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> delaware state police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian. it happened on the eastbound lanes near route 40 and 72 in bear. the man was struck as he tried
to cross the highway. he is in christiana hospital with serious injuries, the driver remained at the scene. we're working to find out if two people will be charged for crashing their vehicle along i-76 in belmawr, new jersey. police believe the two people overdosed. it happened yesterday in the southbound lanes approaching 295. there was a child in the vehicle at the time, but police say nobody was injured. police took everyone to cooper university hospital for further observation. it is 6:06 a.m., defense lawyers for eric frein may raise questions about his father's influence when the penalty phase of the trial gets going today. they may raise his father eugene michael frein and alleged he had an outside influence on ache irfor the reason.

manages to get into the ceiling, but crashes to the floor, a few moments later, the thief ransacked the store and escaped by simply duh by leave running through a door. the tennessee teacher accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old student is expected in court today. he is in federal custody in california. he was arrested on thursday following a nationwide search. he and the girl disappeared on march 1 weeks after a student saw him and the teen kissing in the classroom. he faces charges of sexual contact with a minor and aggravated kidnapping. >> new orleans is taking you on four confederate monuments, they're working to remove the liberty monument put up in 1891 to commemorate a trooper that tried to overlow a bye racial government in new orleans.

boulevard over 422. >> a driver lost control in delaware county hitting parked cars and overturning. it happened over an hour ago on the 2200 block maanor in upper darby. crews are cleaning up the mess. a busy crash close bucks county overnight. a vehicle struck a pedestrian along route 611 in warrington township and stopped at the scene. we're aweighing an update on that victim's condition. a car struck and killed a man who was trying to jay walk across the boulevard. an suv struck 69-year-old melford pinkney in the southbound lanes yesterday afternoon. his family said he had just left the house and did not know where he was heading. the driver of that striking vehicle remained at the scene.
philadelphia police busted a massive pot party over the weekend. 200 people were crammed into what authorities described as a potential death trap. police and narcotics officers raided the warehouse in frankford saturday night. they arrested 22 people and seized 50 pounds of marijuana and $50,000 in cash and several guns. l&i found the fire alarm and sprinkler system did not work. there was only one exit and entrance. >> it is a death trap very often. probably things are going to be okay, but if they are not, it could be a disaster. >> there's no word on who owned the building, at least two organizers are facing serious charges. >> the stage is nearly set for the nfl draft in philadelphia only three days to go with more road closures taking effect today. jeanette reyes is live along
