sprinkles and showers out to the north and west of philadelphia that could pop flew during the morning commute. mostly we've just got low clouds and drizzle around and showers and even a couple of thunderstorms from last night are for the most part gone. so, drier this morning than yesterday. there's that wide view. we see some breakup in the clouds to the north of philadelphia and while i expect we start out mainly cloudy we should wind up transitioning to partial sunshine as we go through the afternoon in particular, maybe even later this morning. 55 degrees currently, a little cooler this morning than it was this time yesterday. still 52 in allentown. 52 in trenton. 54 in millville. down the shore in cape may, 57 for your early morning stroll on the boards. and the winds a little bit stronger this morning than they were yesterday, about 13 miles per hour in philadelphia. some of you still with single digit winds but maybe you'll feel just a little bit breezier. it's going to get milder this afternoon but still well below average. 65 degrees by noon. 68 by 3 o'clock and we'll get a high around four and 5 o'clock of 69 but notice how the breaks in the sun or
clouds i should say continue to build as the day goes on and we will see some sun later on which is better than some of you saw yesterday. i know some out in the west did see some sunshine yesterday karen but a lot of us were stuck with the clouds. we'll be back with the accuweather 7-day forecast and those numbers still looking warmer as we head toward the weekend. >> all right dave looking good. looking at the vine street expressway and it's still shut down. you can see westbound and eastbound closed with in overnight construction like i warned you yesterday so hopefully you caught that. it will close again tonight on the vine but right now we're watching for ramps that should be reopened within the next half an hour here. also on the big picture we can see we have some construction southbound on 95 past the betsy ross bridge r it has since cleared. traffic there moving a lot better p live in delaware county this is what it looks like only a little bit damp on i-95 at the commodore barry bridge. up ahead northbound near kerlin street we had overnight construction there and it has also cleared so construction crews in the process of clearing out but not right here edgehill road remaining
closed here in montgomery county. that's that big water main break from monday. so you want to stick to easton road or highland road because edgehill road remains blocked right now, matt. >> got you karen, thank you. developing this morning stray gunfire hit a pregnant woman in philadelphia. it happened along the 3800 block of archer street in tioga-nicetown. the 27-year-old woman who is seven months pregnant was leaving a friend's house when she was shot once in the leg. police say the bullet came from down the block where a 21-year-old man was shot twice in the leg and shoulder. the shooter ran off. >> there is a private surveillance camera just feet away, so detectives are going to try to catch the owner -- contact the owner of that property to see if the cameras reported anything that could help us with this shooting investigation. >> both the pregnant woman and the 21-year-old man are in stable condition did. >> a six-year-old is fighting for his life. a gunman let loose while the boy's mother was driving in wilmington yesterday.
police believe the family was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, not the target. the bullets grazed the mother but the six-year-old was shot in the head. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside of a.i. dupont hospital. that's where the boy is in critical condition. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. tonight there's going to be a prayer an rally at the scene of the shooting. meanwhile family members remain here at a.i. dupont hospital where the little boy remains in critical condition. let's go to video from the scene in wilmington. this happened around 2:30 yesterday afternoon at sixth and spruce. police say a gunman opened fire into the intersection hitting a six-year-old boy in the head and his 31-year-old mother she was behind the wheel and she was behind the wheel struck in the a police do not believe they were the targets. the little boy was rushed to a.i. dupont in critical condition. his mother was taken to saint francis in stable condition. she has since been released and joins the boy's father at the icu. the gunman was last seen
fleeing south on spruce. he was in a white pickup with another person inside. there's no clear motive in this case. >> started hearing the gunshots rang out. >> he's in critical condition. the doctor said it's -- it's a tough situation but he is strong t he's a fighter. >> and as for tonight's prayer and rally, that takes place at 7 o'clock at sixth and spruce. we're live at a.i. dupont katherine scott, channel6 "action news. >> katherine you. an armed robber threat attend 7-eleven clerk in roxborough. action cam was on ridge a police say at suspect held up the store around midnight. there were no reports of injuries. investigators are taking a look at store surveillance video. >> happening today, bill cosby's chief accuser returns
to the witness stand at the montgomery county courthouse. andrea constand testified the comedian drugs and sexually assaulted her 13 years ago. jeanette reyes has the full story. jeanette. >> reporter: matt in just a matter of hours, the woman at the center of this trial will once again take the witness stand and will continue cross-examination. the defense has said repeatedly that they are questioning the witness' motive. dressed in a blight blue blazer andrea constand walked into the courthouse appearing ready for day two of what has already proven to be an emotional trial. for the first time since the alleged incident 12 years ago she gave chilling testimony before a packed courtroom. the 44-year-old said an innocent friendship with a man she considered a mentor suddenly became sexual in nature. constand alleges cosby game
flirtatious and suggestive grabbing her side and attempting to unbutton her pants on another. she said both times she made it clear that she didn't welcome the advances. the next time she visited his home to discuss at a career change constand said he gave her pills that left her incapacitated and began groping her. she later woke up confused humiliated and left. >> she managed to maintain her composure. she was emotional at certain points in her testimony its hard. >> reporter: in an intense cross-examination cosby's attorneys tour apart constand's testimony. they pointed the injury to had your contradictory statements given to police and said she had in fact contacted cosby dozens of times after the alleged assault. that will blistering cross-examination the expected to continue today. it's also constand's mother will eventually take the stand but missing from both d's wife of me

if i give you that two dimensional view out to the north and west you see a couple light sprinkles and showers pushing their way toward the east. we could have some drizzle this morning with some low lying clouds but we expect conditions to improve as the day goes on. here's your outdoor view this morning. sky6 showing you the clouds and there looks like there's a little streak of orange over towards south jersey and possibility that we will see some sun coming back today especially later today. but can't rule it out here or there in the morning. 55 degrees is your currents temperature t mainly cloudy skies right now, some drizzle is possible in spots and then winds east-northeast at 13 miles per hour. little bit on the breezy side. a lot of neighborhoods though have single digit winds this morning. future tracker6 shows you that sprinkle and shower activity for awhile this morning but as we get up to about midday we're actually looking at the potential for some sunny breaks. and as we go farther into the afternoon, you're still looking at that potential so cloudy start today with maybe a little bit of drizzle in areas across the region but as we go later into the day,
there is the chance of some breakup in the clouds and later tonight we expect to transition to partly cloudy skies so some improvement today. overall it's clouds giving way to some sunny breaks, 55 degrees by 8 o'clock. by 10 o'clock we'll still be at 60 so a cool start today. by noon 65, a little more comfortable. and then by 3 o'clock 68 degrees and i actually expect a high of 69 rather late in the afternoon, say, about 4, 5 o'clock. a couple spots could actually hit 70 as we head into the afternoon. in fact we're going to call it 70 in reading today. upper 60's in allentown lancaster wilmington philadelphia millville and down the shore a little cooler. 66 in a.c. but down to the low 60's as we get down to the shore and of course we do start out with clouds across the region with some sun coming back later on. tomorrow even more improvement. we see a mix of clouds and coastaligh improving to 72. storm passing us by bit looks like it's just off the coast so look way to a little bit of increasing clouds and if there's a shower out of that it's probably not until tomorrow night.ccuweather

the front comes through. >> okay, when you're not on live look at storm tracker6 radar on 6abc.com/weather. >> and we've got some breaking news coming in overseas. iran state tv news is reporting a suicide bombing and a shooting in the capitol city of tehran. detonated a shrt the late khamenei. officials are still sorting out whether or not both of these attacks are related and of course "action news" will continue to follow the breaking story. pop star ariana grande will resume her concert tour in paris tonight. she paused the tour after a suicide bombing killed 22 people and injured more than 100 at the end of her concert in manchester on may 22nd. grande organized and performed during last weekend's one love manchester concert to honor the victims. that many show raised nearly $3.5 million for the red cross
dashcam video shows a man kicking in a woman's windshield in an unprovoked attack. the woman was driving out of grocery store parking lot in atlanta. that's when the man with the backpack comes out of nowhere and jumps on the hood of her car. he then proceeds to stomp out the window. if you look closely at the video it appears that the man is carrying some sort of sharp object. amazingly the woman was not hurt and police are still searching for that attacker. >> two passengers survived a horrific crash in eastern china. their car can be seen veering off the road and hitting a highway guardrail, throwing two passengers from the back seat. they were not wearing their seat belts. a truck stopped just in time as the passengers slide across the road in front of it. the car's driver and another passenger who were wearing their seat belts were not hurt. rescue crews worked for hours to try and free a construction worker trapped in a deep trench.

♪ the moments that connect us happen one morning at a time, and one cup at a time. folgers, the best part of wakin' up. >> new on "action news," rescue crews in michigan helped free a construction worker who became trapped in a trench. the 37-year-old worker was putting equipment into the trench in warren yesterday when it collapsed. the man became buried 15 feet below ground.
somehow, though, he was able to put his head above the dirt line and continue breathing. it took firefighters about two hours of digging by hand to pull the man out. he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but, karen, another example of the bravery of some of these first responders. >> absolutely. thank you to everybody who serves the community. let's look outside live. i've been talking to people on social media yesterday. a lot of people were asking about this one. the ramp from i-95 southbound to woodhaven road westbound. we can see the crews out there. the paving work is partially blocking here the off ramp. most of the time traffic's squeezing by but with the pavers out there you may get a little bit of a problem as we're looking live from the ramp from i-95 southbound to woodhaven road westbound, that paving work still undergoing. let's take a live look outside here the vine street expressway and check on that construction that had it shut down in both directions. westbound we're seeing traffic move. eastbound looks like they're getting ready to cue some traffic. they're in the process of reopening some of the ramps out there on the vine.
crews will return again tonight but it certainly should be all clear this morning by 5:00 a.m. we've got a new accident in aston here in delaware county concorde road near village drive on the northeast extension just some construction blocking the right lane here southbound past quakertown. not nearly as wet as yesterday so hopefully we'll get a better commute today, tam. >> thank you, karen. going on to business, wal-mart is testing out a new way to shop. enter the self serving kiosk where customers can pick up orders almost immediately after placing them online. the first is operating in oklahoma. no need to go inside the store. shoppers can place a order online and pick it up in the parking lot. the service is free but does require a minimum purchase of $30. macy's stock dipped more than 8 percent yesterday. the drop followed its warnings to investors that profit margins would keep declining this year. macy's bad news also spooked investors of other department stores and analysts say that's part of the reason all the
