another person. we talked to the person's family. 14-year-old is injured when a car is shot up in wilmington. police are investigating three different crime scenes. a bensalem coach is under arrest charged with rape and sex charges against children. let's go over to david and karen. >> reporter: talking about weather, feels good out there right now. >> reporter: looking at the weather center we have clouds sweeping in from the west. we might see that early today, but generally speaking we're going for sunny skies and occasional clouds. 67 degrees in philadelphia. just 62 in allentown. 64 in wilmington, 65 in cape may. 65 up the coast in beach haven. as we roll through the day it will be a warm one. 81 degrees as soon as noon. humidity probably still behaving itself up to the lunch hour. 3:00 p.m., 88 that's the high. after 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. you will feel the dewpoints rise

southbound at cinnaminson avenue. that's a busy area 130 southbound near riverton as they continue to do those repairs. they are hard at work in the middle of the night. they have the cones set up that will create a slow go in burlington county. vine westbound is moving fine. eastbound they are continuing to open the ramps, traffic is starting to move on the vine. >> now we have breaking news overnight a crazed and deadly tale unraveled in the olney section. a man was shot on the street. the dead man's friend gave chase to the shooter and the suspect broke into a home the homeowner was not having it, that led to a violent fight. let's go over to our katherine

scott who is breaking it down. >> reporter: this was a series of events that started with a homicide, an extensive crime scene here, investigators are on the scene at 5th and spencer where it began in olney. let's start with the picture of the homicide victim, 47-year-old disabled military veteran howard white a marine injured in a tank explosion years ago. he kohl's to go back overseas for seven years to work as an independent contractor. his family said that howard was at a nearby bar and trained military personnel, he noticed a man casing the place. he was trying to defuse the situation and telling him to walk away. he got him outside the bar and he was shot twice. police heard the shots and arrived in time to see the suspect fleeing and a cousin

chasing him. the cousin has permit to carry and was told to drop the weapon. the suspect broke into a house on 6th street. that's when the suspect got into a struggle with the home own her and his adult son. the homeowner was bruised and hurt and taken to the hospital. >> he got them away from the bar and in the process he got shot in the head and torso and died instantly, but his death may have saved many other lives in that bar. that doesn't bring comfort to us, but at least from other families don't have to feel what we're feeling right now. >> and back here live, you can see the crime scene unit, remains the 25-year-old suspect was cut and bruised in the struggle.

he was taken to the hospital in police custody. homicide detectives continue to interview witnesses. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank four that katherine. breaking in willmington, a 14-year-old is recovering after being shot early this morning. police are investigating three crime scenes that they think are connected to the shooting. first, police found the teen on the street 5th and pine street suffering from a gunshot to her shoulder. they think she was shot several blocks away inside a car. the vehicle managed to make it two miles away if they found the car riddled with bullets. the driver ran away, another passenger is being questioned by police. a former youth football coach in bucks county is charged with sexually assaulting three children. police arrested shannon west moreland yesterday charged with assaulting a 15-year-old in 2005 while a football coach with the

rambleers. he assaulted another child from the time she was 4 to 10 and a third child when she was 6 years and 18. >> we're glad to get this guy off the street. hopefully he will never do any other harm to any other children. >> the bensalem athletic association said it's cuttings background checks. a police officer in millville is under review for an arrest he made last week. he struck the suspect in the head. police say the video does not tell the whole story. he confronted him for j walking and he refused to show his i.d. police are reviewing whether the officer followed the use of force policy. camden county police are trying to find an arsonist who

was caught on camera. investigators release this surveillance video you can see the man approaching the flag pole in front of the camden county library. police say the suspect may have used are crutches or have casting on his feet. gop healthcare bill maybe ready by friday. mcconnell put the vote on hold it was not guaranteed he did not have enough support. president trump said republicans have a great healthcare package and there would be a great great surprise, but offered no further explanation. republicans are facing an uphill battle against public opinion, a new npr poll found 7%

satellite and radar shows cloud cover, we expect this to be high and thin enough to allow some sunshine through. we hope it breaks up a little bit and later in the day we winds up with a mostly sunny sky cover. sunny in the lehigh valley, there could clouds at times. humid later in the day, not so much right now. high of 88 degrees, whether the humidity bothers you or not, it will be warm enough to keep the cool drinks going. at the shore, sunny, humid, 85 is the forecast high there and 63 in the ocean water. 88 degrees in philadelphia. mostly sunny skies, occasional clouds possible, a bit on the humid side as we go later in the day, and especially in the evening, 88 degrees again. pretty toasty. winds out of the south/southwest at 20. overnight tonight, the humidity continues to build. notice how the overnight low is warmer than the last couple of overnights we'll drop to 72.

it into the brick wall. both drivers were injured. new this morning, a major league baseball umpire helped save a woman who was going to jump off a bridge. he noticed the woman hop over the bridge in pittsburgh yesterday. he grabbed her arm to keep her from going over. two other people helped to keep her on the bridge until the emergency crews could get there. >> this was an unbelieve -- unbelievable day, i'm glad i was in the right place at the right time. >> despite that scene he was back at home plate for the pirates and their game for the tampa bay rays. phillies rallied in the 9th and stunned the mariners. they open a series with the mets tomorrow. philadelphia union was knocked out of the open cup they
