the van. police are searching for the person who fired a bullet. jeanette reyes is live at police headquarters with the latest, good morning, jennette. >> reporter: good morning, matt, much of this is a mystery. police know it was a hail of gunfire most of it aimed at the drivers side door. at this point they are not ruling out road rage or targeted shootings, but they don't know. the shooter is on the run this morning. >> got a phone call from my brother, he said my niece was in an accident. >> reporter: the family is trying to come to terms with the senseless violence that killed a 23-year-old woman. >> she was a good person, young lady real goal oriented, she had two jobs, she was ready to move into her own place. >> reporter: it is victim suffered one gunshot wounds and pronounced at the scene. five people were in the car including children ages 3 and 4
and the victim's twin sister. all the people were jirdz in -- injured in the crash, but on the driver was shot. police believe someone opened fire on the van as it traveled northbound on broad street. the shots apped to have come from the 58 -- appeared to have come from the 5800 block of broad. it crossed several lanes of traffic and crashed into a building on old york road. >> the van was struck five times by gunfire. we found five bullet holes on the drivers side of the van as well as the driver door. that was how the 23-year-old driver was shot. >> reporter: and police don't seem to have much in terms of the suspect description, vehicle discrimination all they can say is they are looking for a dark-colored vehicle. they are searching for the
