3 mona tight danville police say they are still looking for suspects in a shooting that left a local doctor with several gunshot wounds. dr. randolph neal and his neighbor were shot multiple times last monday on mount vernon avenue after an attempted robbery. both victims are recovering. an anonymous donor is offering 30-thousand dollars for information leading to a conviction of those involved. 3 pattie tight the bedford police department has issued a statement after one of its former officers was arrested on child porn charges. they say icac investigators told the police department last year that there was an investigation into 54-year-old brian mcalexander. investigators arrested him friday and charged him with six felony counts. in the police department's statement.. they say they want the public to know that if he's found guilty, it does not represent the members of the department. and it goes on to say they're disappointed mcalexander would damage the trust of the public. 3 mona it's been almost 2 weeks since nicole lovell

3pattie tight3 today a judge will continue working to seat a jury in the trial of the woman charged with abuse and neglect of her 5-year-old son. noah thomas was found dead in a septic tank four days after he went missing last march. his mother, ashley white, entered a not guilty plea yesterday morning in pulaski county. 15 of 22 jurors have been selected. once 22 are chosen.. both sides will get their discretionary strikes and a total number of 14 will be seated. stick

this case. 3 3mona tight lynchburg police are investigating a string of break-ins near old forest road. police say a witness called 911 back on january 25th..after seeing 2 people getting into unlocked cars and trying to break into locked ones.. officers say they confronted steven locke junior on the scene, but he ran from them. during the chase, they say he dropped a backpack with several items inside. police charged locke with petit larceny, attempted petit larceny, and tampering with an vehicle. they also charged crystalyn downey. 3pattie tight the woman accused of stealing from people's homes in the lynchburg area has pleaded guilty to ten of those charges.... yesterday, katie hyatt pleaded guilty to five grand larceny and five burglary charges. lynchburg deputy commonwealth's attorney chuck felmlee says police recovered 415 items from hyatt's home, vehicle, and shop. he says hyatt's motive -- financial problems, proven from text records -- show marital strain between hyatt

former employee at hyatt's consignment shop, burnt orange, who says she quit her job because her paychecks bounced on multiple occasions. hyatt's sentencing is april 27th. 3 3mona tight bedford county's fire marshal says a match used to start a grill caused a house fire in forest. we were on the scene on sunday night in the 100 block of declaration terrace. the house was a total loss.. and one firefighter suffered minor injuries. the fire marshal says the match ignited leaves that were under the deck.. and gasoline on the deck made the fire worse. everyone inside was able to get out okay. 3 pattie an update on a motorcycle crash abc 13 told you about friday night. carter craft lost his life following the accident at the billy craft chrysler dealership. police say craft was driving in the parking lot when he lost control and entered lakeside drive. he was taken to lynchburg general and then to roanoke memorial hospital.. where he died from his injuries sunday night. craft is the grandson of the owner of billy craft chrysler. 3mona tight a woman has been indicted on a dui charge after hitting and killing a

roanoke times reports, rhonda simmons was indicted on charges of dui and reckless involuntary manslaughter. the crash happened back in september - according to the roanoke county police they say simmons was driving east on dent road when she left the road and hit marvin heck junior who was walking on the shoulder. 3pattie box a legislative panel has approved a bill to expand the state's law against texting while driving. the bill would make it illegal for a driver to manaully select multiple icons on a cellphone or other handheld personal communication device. it would also prohibit a driver from reading any information on the device -- even while stopped. the bill would not apply to a call or gps navigation. the current law applies only to email and text messagespattie box delegate scott garrett voted against the bill because of uncertainty over what would count as multiple icons. the bill will now be considered by the full house transportation committee. 3 mona tight high school and middle school students across our area are trying to make

kicking off a safety campaign this week called "mission possible: buckle up. drive the speed limit." student groups are organizing activities to educate teens about the dangers of speeding. students at heritage high school, amherst county high school, and all three bedford county high schools are among those participating. 3pattie neighbors in a small community in pittsylvania county are fighting for a safer boat ramp. mona nearby residents of the ramp on leesville lake, say over the years.. there have been too many injuries.. and it's time for a change. valerie bragg reports. 3 there's a pretty sight at the end of this long, winding road. neighbors enjoy this view, but not the danger. jerry hagerman- "some of the injuries here have resulted in broken ribs, broken ankles." lionel reynolds lives nearby and says it's all true. lionel reynolds- "i myself tried to step off the boat last summer stepped on slick rock and fell on my hip and almost broke a hip." when he's pulling his boat in...there's no place to step-off. so, he had to use the side, where the debris and rocks are. reynolds- "i had a great big bruise about that." neighbors say they need a dock...and some work done to the ramp itself. a 92-year-old man died last summer when his truck went into the lake. no one knows for sure whether the
