first warning storm team forecast. tracking rain, snow and gusty winds....we re keeping an eye on an area of low pressure that will move in from the west tonight. as the low approaches the area, scattered rain will begin moving in. now, most of hampton roads and northeastern north carolina will have above freezing temperatures at the onset of this event. however, some of our temperatures will be marginal for a few of our inland and northern communities, which could support snow to mix in through early friday morning. some snow accumulations can be expected during this event but will likely be limited because the rain. areas near sussex, surry, williamsburg- james city co., gloucester. mathews, middlesex and the northern eastern shore could see about 1-2"of snow. however, some of our forecast models are hinting at higher amounts of snow over portions of the middle peninsula and the rthern neck, possibly up to . en higher snow totals are pected near petersburg and chmond. ain, for most of the viewing ea, this will be a rain event. would not be surprised if a few snowflakes mixed in with the rain at times, t overall, it will be rain. me of the rain could be heavy times late tonight through iday morning, capable of ading to ponding on roads. other than the potential for rain and snow, the winds will be howling once the low moves offshore and strengthens.

a chanello )s driver robbed early wednesday while delivering pizza. someone robbed the driver on picadilly street in norfolk. that )s right off interstate 64. one a-m. we )re told the person who robbed the driver was armed -- but no one was hurt. police say the robber got away with cash and personal property. a texas trooper has been fired after the arrest and death of sandra bland. brian en-sin-ee-ah encinia was indicted for lying about his arrest of sandra bland, after a traffic stop near houston last july.the arrest was caught on his squad car s dash cam. bland was arrested for assault and jailed. 3 days later --she was found dead in her cell, hanging with a plastic bag around her neck. the officer can still appeal the department s decision to fire him. nasa astronaut scott kelly is back on american soil. kelly landed in houston overnight after returning to earth tuesday. he had spent a record 340 days in space. as don champion reports, doctors are now checking kelly to see what kind of impact his long duration space

a new mexico sheriff )s deputy escaped injury after a suspect drove off with with the law enforcement officer still in the vehicle. last month the officer pulled over roberto garcia. garcia had an active warrant -- and then the officers asked

a dashboard camera captured the deputy inside the vehicle as garcia drove off. about five hundred feet away garcia stopped. he is charged with aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer -- a fourth degree felony. a virginia family says their son will not be returning to his private school -- because of a disagreement about the length of his hair. shelby brown with our sister station in richmond has more. natsound shelby/track isaiah freeman s hair has been the source of controversy between isaiah s parents and west end christian school administrators. the school says his hair is too long. the problem, it has been that way since he was in the third grade. i was a bit confused because my hair has been that way for so long. dad shawn freeman says they pulled isaiah s hair back so it would not be in his face or over his hears shelby/track school administrators found that unacceptable and said he needed to cut it or he would face
