we're at the intermodal station downtown... where trains will be running - as always - between milwaukee and chicago. the cubs are world series champs after a 108 year wait... prevailing in extra innings wednesday night against the cleveland indians in game seven. we spent much of the day yesterday in kenosha... where cubs fans wisconsin border were rushing to buy world series gear. many of them told us they were planning on driving to chicago for today's parade. kenosha's about 60 miles north of wrigley field. if you're in milwaukee and looking to get to chicago by parade time... there's a train leaving at 6:15 this morning from the intermodal station. late risers can also catch an 8:05 train out... which puts you in chicago at roughly 9:30.

department...the firing was made official this evening by the fire and police commission. heaggan- brown is behind bars, accused of sexual assault. charges will be read today. heaggan brown is the officer who killed syville smith in august. the killing sparked two days of violence in sherman park. increasingly, community members have called for the release of video from the shooting. police in west allis are asking for your help, tracking down an arsonist who injured a small child. police say someone intentionally set fire to a first floor unit in the lincoln crest apartments over the weekend. the small child was severely burned. if you have any information, call the arson hotline at 800- 363- 3005. milwaukee common council expected to approve mayor barretts 2017 budget today. thbudgetwill allow for some lead paint to be removed from

for the city'solice department. today kicks off veterans week at uw-milwuakee. veterans will be honored with a weeks worth of events starting tonight with the veterans ball at the hilton downtown. the ball starts at 5-30. thsalvation army's christmas campaign is under way and is aiming high this year. ann sterling joins us live at the milwaukee market place whe the red kettle campaign kicks off about an hour. it's a classic holiday scen volunteers ringing bells - and sometimes singing and dancing - alongside their red kettles. the campaign starts at 7:00 this morning right here at milwaukee public market. this program dates back to 1891 and the red kettle campaign is the single largest fundraiser for the salvation army . last year across the country --$144 million dollars was raised.this year here in the milwaukee area -- the red

the trial for a white former police officer accused of shooting an unarmed black man continues today in south carolina. . 34-year-old michael slager is charged in the april 2015 shooting death of 50 year-old walter scott, an unarmed motorist. slager shot scott eight times after he fled a traffic stop, the shooting wapt bystander on dramatic cellphone video. slager faces between 30 years and lifen prison if convicted of murder. happening today friends and family will lay to rest the fallen "rusk county" deputy "dan glaze." glaze was killed over the weekend while invesigating a suspicious vehicle.today flags all across the state will be flown at half-staff-- in honor of glaze today's health. for many, an important part of fall is the

said the biggest difference with this election --- voters have more options. this year --- there have been three early voting sites in the city.the zeidler municipal building downtown,the midtown center at 56th and capitol,and the forest home library.mayor tom barrett said the city estimates around 50 thousand in-person absentee votes by the end of saturday. early voting ends this saturday. check your cities website to see what time early voting ends in your city

hotel. fire officials are in the process of testing the fire safety systems... once those are done guests who are already checked into the hotel will be able to go back to their rooms. no one was hurt... but crews did have to rescue a number of people who trapped in several elevators inside the hotel. one of the men charged in the murder of five year old laylah petersen will be sentenced today. police say petersen was shot and killed while sitting on her grandfathers lap inside of her home in was one of three men involved in her death... when they targeted the wrong house,polie say farr was the get away driver in killing. tomorrow, the culvers in greenfield and the culvers in west milwaukee will donate a portion of their sales to the family of marisol cevallos. a school bus struck and killed the 17- year- old earlier this week.investigators have ruled her death an accident. the world series champion cubs

wells fargo's legal mess just got worse. the bank is now being investigatedby the powerful exchange commission. the details of the investigation still unclear... we do know the bank's "sales practices" are part of the investigation. senator elizabeth warren recently asked the s-e-c to look into whether wells fargo violated whistleblower protection laws. many wells fargo employees believe they were retaliated against for calling the bank's ethics hotline over colleagues opening fake accounts to meet aggressive sales quotas.
