debate in miami where candidates made one of their final pushes for your vote here in florida 10news reporter emerald morrow is live in-studio... emerald, the race is a lot tighter between the republicans than it is among the democrats. yeah, and since we're a winner- takes-all state, it could be make or break for rubio...who's second behind front-runner donald trump our joint poll shows donald trump leading with 36 percent of the republican vote...and rubio trailing not too far behind with 30 percent. ted cruz is strong nationally, but comes in with just 17 percent here in florida, and john kasich is at the bottom of the pack with just 8 percent. on the democratic side, through...the gap is much wider. florida democrats are really feeling hillary clinton...and not so much feeling the bern. his voter support is just at 23 percent...while clinton is soaring in the polls with a whopping 68 percent. and speaking of who's supporting who...cnn is reporting that ben carson will announce his support for donald
here in florida. i'm looking into what this could mean for the other republican candidates, coming up at 6. in this morning's lakeland ledger, you can see more of those poll results and read about who the biggest supporters are for each candidate. bernie sanders will be back on the campaign trial this morning after making a stop in the bay area. sanders showed up to thousands of supporters at the florida state fairgrounds. this week marks the sanders campaign's first visit to florida. given the crowd's size and enthusiasm 10 news' eric glasser asked the senator if they'd made a mistake not making florida a priority earlier. hours before sander's event, hillary clinton was in ybor city. clinton focused her comments on topics important to florida such as climate change and infrastructure. she also took a jab at governor rick
billion dollars in high-speed rail funding. clinton also talked about the importance of tampa's port. hillary clinton will be one of the hundreds of people gathering at the reagan presidential library today to say goodbye to former first lady nancy reagan. the former first lady is being remembered for her style, grace and devotion to her husband, the 40th president. earlier in the week, first lady michelle obama says is remembering reagan as a passionate advocate for many important issues...namely her anti-drug campaign. nancy reagan's two children, patti and ronald, will share memories of their mother today. she will be buried on the grounds of the library...right by her husband.
two witnesses for hulk hogan's team will take the stand in his lawsuit against tabloid website, gawker. on thursday, university of florida professor, mike foley, was cross examined by the defense, but struggled during questions about freedom of press. as we've been reporting, hogan is suing gawker for 100 million dollars for posting the sex tape video he claims he never knew even existed. we will continue to stream the trial live for you on our free 10 news app. testimony starts again at 9 this morning. take a look at this new video.. firefighters in los angeles battle a massive fire in a massive business building. smoke and flames could be seen for miles. it started at about 8:30 thursday night and crews are still hot spots. this is in boyle heights which is near downtown l-a. fortunately, no one was hurt. polk county school district employees accused of leaving a special needs student on the bus are free from jail. but both are on paid leave. there as bus driver gale brown and bus attendant
bonded out of jail. the two are now facing child neglect charges. they were caught on bus cameras, leaving a 13 year old boy with special needs sleeping on the bus - twice in the past week. the sheriff says the student had to hitch-hike 30 miles to his home.
