sarah hollenbeck is live at st pete- clearwater airport. sarah, this scathing report definitely has caught the attention of alot of people. yes, the tampa bay times found last year allegiant jets made 77 emergency landings for very serious mechanical failures....and their jets are old, breaking down-- and not always properly fixed. it's a troubling report for st pete clearwater airport, where 95% of the flighre allegiant. the investigation found allegiant's jets are on average 22 years old--- when you compare that to the other big u-s airlines, their jets are on average 12 years old. the times also found, unlike other large airlines, allegiant doesn't always have a staffed team of mechanics at each airport to address major issues. here's what i'm digging into at 5- 30.....what is the faa and the federal government doing--- or not doing---- to
