and i'm ian reitz. we have a lot to get to this morning. just hours ago -- the race was called, and donald trump was officially elected to be the next president of the united states. we have crews across tampa bay. in tampa, 10 news reporter emerald morrow is talking with leaders from both the republican and democratic side. but first, we begin with sarah hollenbeck who has been been on top of this historic presidential election. this morning, millions of you are waking up to a new presidential who vows to bring in a new

trump's victory speech in the very early morning hours focused on making america a greater country for all of us, as he brings in a business perspective, rather than a politicial background. this guy right here was one of the most enthusiastic in the crowd in new york city as trump was named the next president. as trump took the stage this morning, we heard a very different message. as blistering and divisive as this election has been, trump forcused on an appeal for unity. trump's win stretched across the battleground states of florida, north carolina, ohio and pennsylvania he even won in states that have long leaned democratic. meanwhile, hillary clinton's supporters brushed back tears... we know clinton conceeded the race, she called to congratuate donald trump, but she has not publicly

she's expected to speak later this morning. this morning---something else everyone is talking about-- donald trump literally blew up the electoral map, all projections and expectations for this election. it's a pretty incredible feat. at 6--i'll explain just how significant that is. allison.... let's break this down for you. ian, you're looking at the bay area counties and how they voted. take a look at the red on the screen, almost every county in our area voted trump. that includes polk, citrus, pasco, pinellas, manatee and sarasota. the only one that voted for hillary clinton, hillsborough county. in hillsborough -- clinton got just over 51.5% of the vote compared to trump's 44.7%. in pinellas -- it was much closer -- trump with 48.6% to

has 54.3% to clinton's 42.7%. and in polk -- trump got 55.4% to clinton's 41 percet. people in the u-s weren't the oily ones waiting for the final results. the race captivated people across the world who waited anxiously for the results. rylee carlson was at one of the biggest election parties in london. trump winning video/sound up. in the uk - they're calling trump's victory a 'brexit- style shock" another surprise result following britain's dramatic vote in june to leave the european union. i sort of saw it as a warning you know that something like this could happen. sound up printing late editions of uk newspapers flew off the presses with news of trump's surge. every step of this election has been watched around the

this morning we're hearing mixed reactions over trump winning the presidency. 10 news reporter shannon valladolid is live in plant city. shannon what are you hearing? we haven't seen to many people out here this morning but those that we ran into say they haven't slept just waiting for the results to come in. so, we spoke to some people who are so excited about donald trump winning the election, they say he is the change that america needs right

issues like immigration and jobs. other we spoke to say they could care less about who won. people have a lot to say on social media. mixed reactions to say the least. clinton supporters very upset at how this presidential race turned out. adriana says "looks like racism and ignorance won.. pray for our kids growing up in this mess.. michelle writes disgusting! i have seen nothing but hate coming from trump supporters tonight. many comments i saw also said no matter who you voted for, trump is now our president

forward. which is exactly what trump said in his winning speech. were live in plant city shannon valladolid 10 news wtsp. of course, all eyes are on the presidential election. but there are two big races in florida a lot of people are talking about this morning. like we've been been mentioning, republican marco rubio wins a second term in the florida u-s senate.. rubio won with 52 percent of the vote.. patrick murphy, 44 percent. this is the race that caught a lot of people by surprise. charlie crist came out on top against incumbent david jolly for house district 13. crist got 52 percent of the vote.... jolly 48 percent. it's been just a few hours since donald trump won the presidency, and much like the campaign, phil, people aren't being shy about speaking their minds. coming up
