good morning and welcome to 10 news this morning. i'm allison kropff. and i'm ian reitz. right now a tennessee community is grieving after at least five children were killed in a terrible school bus crash. it happened monday afternoon around 3:30 in chattanooga. the bus was carrying 35 students from an

10news reporter emerald morrow is live in the satellite center. emerald, the school bus driver is now facing some serious charges. yes, at least five counts...including vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. here's a look at how terrible this crash was. police in the area have called this crash 'every public safety official's worst nightmare.' right now, police say it's very likely that speed was a factor in this crash that caused the school bus to flip on its side and wrap around a tree. the crash was so bad, on top of stealing lives, it apparently took about two hours to get all of the kids off the bus. cbs news is reporting that officials have issued a warrant for the bus' black box and to look

norah o'donnell. mr trump is expected to head to his florida home later tuesday...where he'll celebrate thanksgiving. happening today, new rules aimed at loosening the powerful bond between state lawmakers and lobbyists. land o' lakes representative richard corcoran just took command of the house and wants to make sure the men and women you elect aren't being swayed by lobbyists when they vote. some of the new rules that will be voted on today: banning lawmakers from flying on lobbyists' planes, banning text messages between lobbyists and lawmakers during committee meetings disclose if they work or volunteer for organizations that receive state dollars. as japan continues to recover from a power earthquake, seismologists are trying to figure out if the quake was an aftershock from a massive earthquake that happened five years ago. thankfully, officials have lifted all tsunami warnings and advisories. at this point we have not heard of anyone getting hurt or any serious damage from the 7.3 magnitude quake. this happened in the same region that a powerful earthquake hit in

tsunami that killed 18 thousand people and destroyed a nuclear plant. just as millions of americans are hitting the road for thanksgiving vacation, a snowstorm hit the northeast bringing some roads to a standstill. parts of new york are buried under two feet of lake effect snow and more is expected today. thousands are already without power and the weather is being blamed for several accidents. law enforcement has been out doing what they can to keep people safe. the good news is that conditions will start to improve the good news is that conditions will start to improve just in time for thanksgiving. skiers and snowboarders on sugar mountain in north carolina wish that snow would fall a little further south. the fresh powder you see there is man made, but it seems to be working. the long, dry summer and fall has been taking its toll on ski resorts in the area. a snow machine has allowed some slopes to open on

it's giving tuesday! it's a day to help kick off the charitable season. in honor of the special day, triple a wants to make sure your children stay safe in the car. the "auto club group traffic safety foundation" is giving out booster seats. you can pay a 10 dollar suggested donation to the foundation. you can pick them up anytime between 9 a-m and 11-30 a-m at the triple a on westshore boulevard in tampa. your child must be at least four- years-old, and weigh 40 pounds to get a booster seat. this is pretty cool. if you plan on shopping at international plaza this black friday, you may notice a new store. you'll be able to shop for stuff from your favorite bay area teams. tampa bay sports and entertainment says the 15 hundred square foot store will be like the one you may have seen at tampa international airport. you can buy gear from the lighting, the rays, the bucs, and u-s-f. it's on the first floor near dillards. the deals that come with black friday are sometimes so tempting. coming up, experts weigh in on how some of them may be too good to be true.

ian, we've learned this morning that west has checked himself into a hospital after an incident in los angeles on monday. people are confused and worried about the rapper. and celebrities are reacting on social media. singer janelle monae tweeted "praying for kanye, praying he has the right energy surrounding him during this time. sending peace and love." actor emile hirsch tweeted "hey kanye west, get better, man. people are making jokes right now, but having been there myself, i hope he gets the help he needs." singer and friend, john legend also weighed on monday. so a lot of speculation about the rapper...and a lot of questions. fans...and friends just wishing
