4:03 am
3 tampa's curtis hixon park is a lovely place to hold a gathering. but one group got a less than a warm welcome. it immediately ignited of bit of a fire inside mepretty much any outlet where people can use their voice right now, they are shouting it from the rooftops in disgust, to think that this is going to happen in our city the website "return of kings" announced an international meetup this saturday, at 165 locations worldwide, including curtis hixon park.posted this picture with exact directions. here's what upset people: the site is known for posting articles about how women should *not be allowed to vote. how their value depends on fertility and beauty. it also said women, homosexuals and transsexuals were not welcome at saturday's meetup. drawing the most criticism is this article -- "how to stop rape" -- by publisher daryush valizadeh. in it, he proposed making rape legal if done on private property. he's since claimed the article was satire and that neither he, nor his supporters want rape legalized. but, the damage was already's like a poison, it can spread, anybody could be motivated to actually carry it out even if it is somebody else's jokethis is like a cookbook, a recipe for disaster. it doesn't seem like a hoax anymore, it seems like something that is legitimate and you can't trust these kinds of radicals mayor bob buckhorn's office was bombarded wednesday with concerns about the event. he issued a statement saying: "as a father of two girls and a mayor of a city that has no room for this vile rhetoric, i'm disgusted that a group such as return of kings would congregate in curtis hixon," "their twisted logic and violent and vulgar behavior has no place in this world, let alone tampa." hours later... the event was cancelled. 3 3

3 3 we reached out to "return of kings" but got no response. and not *everything is cancelled on saturday. a *peaceful counter-protest is still scheduled to go on, that night. they say the goal is to show support for women and all groups of people. 3 3 concern keeps growing this morning... over the zika virus. and here in
4:05 am
emergency. there are at least *nine cases across four counties, including hillsborough. the others are in miami-dade, lee.. and santa rosa counties.((more)) 3 ?so what exactly does this declaration mean? it's mostly a proactive approach... to fighting the illness, and preventing it from spreading. the state will beef up spraying efforts and improve outreach and education in mosquito bite prevention. 3 there is no indication that the virus has been transmitted *within hillsborough county, or that any mosquitos here are carrying it. the areas around the homes where the infected people live are also being inspected. hillsborough county commissioners say they are getting calls from constituents asking for the county to come spray, and there's a lot of confusion about how the virus is caught:
4:06 am
to non-pregnant women who traveled to other countries. they have been treated by doctors and are expected to be o-k. the hillsborough county health department was also asked by commissioners to expedite a report on zika, that was originally expected in two weeks. 3 and zika cases continue to keep popping up all across the u-s. at least 11 states are now affected, along with washington d-c. and the most recent case could come from chicago. a patient was taken there last night for testing. 3 3 happening today: a man caught with *explosives in his apartment... is heading to court. 3 there is a federal detainment hearing scheduled for "michael ramos." he is currently being held in the pinellas county jail. federal agents raided his home on monday after a business partner reported him. they say they found eight live pipe bombs, along with tear gas, grenades and ammunition. ramos told agents he had no plans to use the explosives. they also say he has *no ties to terrorists. 3 3 an update now, on several controversial gun bills... in the state legislature. the florida house just *passed
4:07 am
one... that allows guns on college campuses. 3 that bill would only apply to people with concealed weapons permits... and allows them to openly carry their guns on campus. another bill passed by the house would allow *lawmakers to carry concealed weapons onto the chamber's floor. those bills are still far from becoming law. the state senate still has to pass it's companion bills... and senate leaders are not very confident that will happen. two *other gun bills were sent to the governor's desk. one would ban gun ranges in highly populated neighborhoods. ((more)) 3 florida's "10-20-life law" that sets mandatory minimum sentences for crimes involving guns. it now gives judges some flexibility when aggravated assault. 3 3 happening today in tampa: the deep fryers are warming up... and the ferris wheel is starting to spin. the 20-16 "florida state fair" is opening its gates.((more)) 3 so get ready for a dozen days of attractions, rides , the theme of this year's fair is "so much more to explore." and it's appropriate, because of all

3 the company, urthecast, [pronounced earth-cast] installed two high resolution cameras on the russian side of the space station in 2014. the russian space agency owns a small percentage of urthecast.handberg says; "the russians have been aggressively attempting to find ways to make money." there are also concerns that russia could use space imagery for military ends in ukraine and syria.cowan says: "clearly this kind of imagery could be used to identify, locate and geo-position targets on the ground for strikes by russian aircraft." the commercial use of cameras on the research station shows how the line between government control and private enterprise in space, is vanishing. handberg says: "governments and militaries are having difficulties dealing with that because they want to foster innovation, but they don't know what that means in the long term so they're always nervous about it." originally designed to be a lab, the international space station is being used more and more as a destination point, for private companies trying to figure out a way to make space travel profitable. in miami, steve harrigan, fox
