it's on martin luther king, jr. boulevard. it involves several vehicles. florida highway patrol is telling us tonight four people have died. the crash is at mlk boulevard and coconut palm drive. that's east of the tampa bypass canal. mlk is closed at this time. y motorists should avoid the area, and we will update you on more information as soon as we get it is. also a deadly fire strikes a family in sarasota. a couple has died and is history three alarm fire at a home on sugar lane. fox 13's crystal clark tells us how this happened. >> rachel: crime scene tape still surrounds the home and you can see debris the still littered in the front of the house. firefighters have been out here for at least seven hours, and at this point they'll liable be here for several more hours monitoring hot spots at the home, and they tell us at this point they still do not know the cause of this fire, either.
lane around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon when a neighbor called after spotting flames shooting from the roof. the neighbor tells us earlier today he heard what sounded like an explosion from a blown transformer. he says a fire truck, and electrical crews were nearby working to repair the problem but just a few heros later, that's when he spotted flames and smoke at his neighbor's home. according to property records, cynthia and ben langford are the owners. we do know that inside the home, and a third person an adult male who neighbors say is their son was rescued by firefighters. folks who knew them say the couple was obese and disabled, which tragically may have made it difficult for them to get out. >> we know that she was in a wheelchair. he had a hard time walking. >> they were very nice people. they were disabled, so they didn't get out very much,. >> while atlanta weren't many
