church during the 11:00 a.m. sunday services. they will do an autopsy today on the 27 year-old man killed, robert braxton, the autopsy should tell investigators how close he was to the usher, when shot, possibly, if he was in the struggle over the gun, there could be burn marks on his skin or clothes where he was shot in the chest. after arguing, and then pushing and shoving with ushers church quoers told us the church members who fired had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. he fired in self-defense and felt his life was in danger. even if, unarmed the man killed, it the may be argued that he tried to grab the gun or a physical struggle with that church member who did get treated at the hospital himself after everything happened, may have felt that he was getting manually strangled, who knows, but the district attorney is cooperating and not in custody >> we understand that there was a disturbance in the church, and then there was an altercation, between these two

people, and then a shot was fired, at least one shot was fired, and we have, you know, a person that died as a result of that. >> it appears that braxton was shot with the semi an automatic i can handgun. the investigation into this is ongoing. we will have to determine whether the shooting was justified under the law. we are still interviewing witnesses. there were a number of people the at the service. i believe in the hundreds. so, we have got a lot of interviews to do. that is ongoing. that will take sometime to do. and it will be those interviews and any forensic and ballistics evidence they get from the autopsy and the gun that tell us what happened here, lauren and mike because there is in surveillance camera, pointed in the direction of where this all went down inside the church, so no video will help investigators in this case. >> when something like this happens they come out and talk

shootings only a block apart. one happening in front of the candidate for the state house of representatives. a 21 year-old man was shot and killed in the 400 block of vernon road mid afternoon yesterday. police say it happened while victim was talking to democratic candidate chris rob. he and campaign volunteers he was with were not hurt. then four hours later two teens shot one killed on temple road. this is believed to be a retaliation for the first shooting. >> as you can tell i'm somewhat exasperated by the fact that i'm even here, it speaks to what we deal with across the city and cities across this nation with retaliatory violence and manner in which in particular young people handle their grief and their retribution and it is ridiculous. >> police don't have a motive for either shooting, no arrests have been made. well, community town hall meetings in wilmington is set to take place this evening. it is in hopes of helping the neighborhood heel following

that tragic death of a 16 year-old girl, last week. as you know wilmington city council members darren brown, a graduate of howard high school, is holding the event and is urging the community to talk more about bullying. a meeting will be held at 6:00 t stubs elementary school, in wilmington. the meeting is in response to the death of amy francis joyner who died after a bathroom beating, at howard high school, of technology. students say that the instant tenth was allegedly over a boy. that is how it started. lets talk about politics. ted cruz and jon kasich said they want stop donald trum from winning the nomination. >> they have a plan they have work out here in philadelphia a. both kasich and cruz campaigns releasing statements last night saying they are launching collaborative strategies to deprive donald trump the needed delegates to win the republican nomination. ted cruz will focus his campaign resources on winning enough delegates in indiana

unreal. investigators say a former high school student opened fire outside of a prom in a small wisconsin town over the weekend, armed with a high powered rifle the 18 year old shot two teens as they were coming out of the school building, an officer was already there, for security, and shot the gun man, who later died. one of the female victims has been released from the hospital a male victim had surgery, the male is expected to survive but still in the hospital. the shoot's peers to have pick his victims at random but they do in the know why. stay classy, flyers fans. >> yes i have one of those shirts. >> we will take you to the ice to show you creative way the team hoped to keep the fans, tame, in the flyers final game of the season.

security, even at sunday mass and services, it is so, on high alert these days, you can understand why after nine people were killed, in less than a year. that may explain why an usher here in montgomery count which a permit to carry a concealed weapon had a gun with him yesterday. question authorities are trying toas is was the shooting just tied. was 27 year-old robert braxton a threat to that usher's life and others inside the church and was he shot and killed in self-defense? >> that is what we have to work through at this point. we have to, take a look, at the statements from people. we have to take a lot at forensic evidence we have and then we will make determinations at that point. >> there is no one in custody at this point. the individual involved in the shooting is cooperating with the police at this point. >> what we know at this point is that both are members of

the this church. we don't know what the relationship is, between the two have of them. it is early on in the investigation. there were a number of people at the service, i believe in the hundreds. so, we have got a lot of interviews to do, that is ongoing, that will take sometime, to do. >> that will be those interviews and today's autopsy that will tell authorities, what exactly happened. one thing the autopsy will tell them is in the only how many times braxton was shot the but how close he was shot because if he was hit, once, but three shots were fired as witnesses in the crowd told reporters, yesterday, that could indicate a struggle over the gun and so would any burn residue marks on his clothes, and skin indicating the shooting was up close in a hand to hand struggle. unfortunately lauren and mike they will have to go with autopsy results, ballistics from the gun and interviews from everybody involved because they have no surveillance video, no cameras a all around the church, are

pointed in the direction where all of this happened. >> wow. there is no indication that the guy that is dead, had a weapon? >> reporter: well, kevin steele was asked that in the news conference and he said not that he knew of. we don't know for sure right now but no indication for sure, that he did have a weapon but again, if he is going for a weapon, that also would fall under justified shooting or he can be just strangling somebody with your hands and you can kill somebody bear handed. but all those answers still to come. >> thanks, steve very much. there was a guest speaker who was speaking on the topic of somewhat dangerous for christians in this day and age to go to their house of worship. investigators say a woman kidnaped in west philadelphia at gunpoint over the weekend knew her attacker. police are looking for that man behind the abduction. they say early sat the day morning a man force a 20 year-old woman into his car near forty-ninth inland caster in the park side neighborhood. officers a say she was bound, and assaulted.
