construction zone, so we are bumper to bumper here, from approaching bridge street all the way up to cottman, taking out two of the only three lanes that are available. only good thing here is most of the volume comes south, but even lesser side is already jammo, from approaching bridge all the way up to cottman avenue. we will see delays coming southbound, we will have some sun glare, every where, you know the normal spots, but not only here on i-95, but also on the schuylkill expressway eastbound coming around a conshohocken curve. ben franklin not bad coming into downtown, new schedules on norristown high speed line. if you use septa's route 11 they are using shuttle buses between darby and island wood land loop. if you're coming from south jersey delays on 55 and 42 and just watch for those new lane shifts that are there in the work zone, mike and lauren back to you. we had a sunday morning shocker. police are investigating how, and why a man was shot to death, yesterday during a church services.

>> one point witnesses say everyone was singing and moments later they will hear gunshots. steve keeley live from montgomery count which more on how this all started, hi there, steve. >> reporter: here we are the day after and 27 year-old robert braxton was dead. he was at church for sunday services. usher who shot him out of the hospital and done the at least for now talking to investigators. as to why someone ushering, working, volunteering at a church for sunday services would feel the need to carry a gun? let's remind you of last years shooting in south carolina at a church killed nine. many churches rheaes ised their security steps. that happened less than a year ago june 17th. it is still very fresh in many mind especially those in charge of churches like this one hoping to keep their congregations safe. that may explain why an usher here would have a gun and a permit to conceal it and carry it, and volunteering here. was he justified in firing it? was itself defense, no explanation known by district

attorney. >> we understand that there was a disturbance in the church and there was an altercation between these two people and then a shot was fired at least one shot was fired and we have a person that died as a result of that. it appears that braxton was shot with a semiautomatic handgun, the investigation into this is ongoing, we will have to determine whether the shooting was justified under the law. we are still interviewing witnesses. there were a number of people at the service. i believe in the hubs. so we have a lot of interviews to do, that is ongoing, that will take sometime, and that will take sometime to do. >> and it will be interviews, and the autopsy, results, and the forensic result on the gun, confiscated, there won't be any surveillance video to help this investigation simply

because there are no cameras aimed at where this all happened. the autopsy is scheduled for today, and the man, the usher, who had the permit to carry the gun and fired it, not in custody but cooperating. obviously lauren and mike, authorities don't feel he is in any danger to anybody else in public and that tells you right the now that they don't think there was anything initially instantly known to be criminal involved in this. so there may in the be any charges involve at all. we will wait and see how this investigation goes. >> we will find out what happened in that church. a lot of people say they got in the argument. all right, steve. 7:04. >> we're following breaking news right now president barack obama a says he is sending 250 more troops to syria. the president says it is to keep that momentum going in the fight against isis. >> those u.s. forces will not do any direct fighting, but still, it is very dangerous. instead, their goal would be to advise syrian local forces in the hope that they will take more territory away from

isis. the united states already has about what 50 special operations forces, doing the same thing in syria right now. >> all right. the number will increase. philadelphia police commissioner richard ross, he has had it, it is a blame of gang violence for two deadly shootings only a block from each other yesterday. one happened in front of the candidate for the state house of representatives. >> a 21 year-old man was shot and killed in the 1400 block of vernon road mid afternoon yesterday. police say it happened while the victim was talking to democratic candidate chris rob, he and the campaign volunteer, they were not hurt. dead about four hours later. two teenagers were shot, within of them killed on temple road in what is believed to be retaliation for that first shouting. >> as you can tell i'm somewhat exasperated by this fact that i'm even here speaks to what we deal with across the city and cities across this nation with retaliatory violence and the manner in which particularly young people handle their grief and

their retribution. it is reparticular lust. police do not have a motive for either shooting as of yet and so far no arrests have been made. they are still looking for people. the community town hall meeting scheduled for tonight in wilmington in hopes of helping that neighborhood heel following tragic death of the 16 year-old amy francis joyner. >> the whole community is still stunned by what happen. wilmington city councilman darren brown, who was a graduate by the way of howard high school, of technology, is holding the event abe urging the community to talk more about bullying. that could be how this whole thing started. the meeting will be held at 6:00 o'clock tonight at stubs elementary school in, wilmington. the meeting is in response to the death of francis -- amy frances who died have a after a eating after that high school. students say the incident was an allegedly over an argument over a boy. >> so sad. >> all right. fifteen year-old girl is in critical condition after a car hit her in gloucester county,

new jersey this happened where police say they had already taken measures to prevent this from happening. >> it happened on route 42 at glean tree road near the washington township carnival that is going on. police say that the teen was crossing in an area where they had installed, plastic orange fencing, a long the median of the highway, to prevent carnival goers from crossing the road. the victim was crushed to trooper trauma center. >> it makes you think thaw really need to one, hold your kids closely and really pay a tension to what they do. it could be anybody's child. you know, i got the goose bumps yesterday. >> the driver of the car that hit her stayed at the scene. they are cooperating with the police. no charges have been filed just yet. a former senator from pennsylvania is announcing that he will, say i do. one more time. he was married to a woman, this time he is marrying a man >> harris woffard is 90 years

old. according to his opinion in the new york times yesterday he plans to marry someone 50 years younger then him. he wrote he had a wonderful marriage with his wife who happened to die of leukemia but he said he later found his current partner and found happiness for second time in his life. woffard criticized labeling people straight or gay. he doesn't characterize himself based on the people he choose toss love. >> there you go. >> 7:08. authorities say murders of the eight family members in ohio could have been a result of the turf war over drugs. >> incredibly gruesome scene friday morning. eight members of the family were killed, execution style. in four different homes, this is in pike county, and the southern part of the ohio. authorities say that the killings appear to be targeted, preplanned, and sophisticated. and that more than one gunman is likely involved. they also say marijuana grow operations were found at three of these locations. the frantic 911 calls described the horrific scene that this young woman found.

vine expressway, right at broad street taking out the left lane. we need windex out, clean the camera lens later on. an accident west on the schuylkill at south street on ramp, otherwise, mass transit looking good. mike and lauren, back to you. happening right now investigators are trying to put together how a peaceful church service yesterday just turned deadly. >> yes, parishioners were ducking for cover after singing hymns just before, steve is on it, steve. >> reporter: it will take a while for the district attorney to figure out whether this was justified or not. look at where we are in the middle of the industrial park about 45 minutes drive from center city without traffic at 3:00 in the morning. the shooting at that charleston south carolina church where nine people were killed, less than ten months ago june 17th is still in the mind of many. so many churches around the country now have that on their mind and in many cases in their security and that may explain why an usher here with a permit to carry a concealed weapon had a gun at sunday

custody a and not facing any charges and may not face any. they will talk all of those witnesses, they will get ballistics test done on the gun and take the autopsy results that they will get to take when the autopsy is finished to find out how many times he was shot. district attorney told us shot once in the the chest but church goers heard three shots and the extra shots may explain a possible struggle, over the gun, which may help, explain why this man felt the news he had to shoot because he may be only man armed. but if this guy was going for his gun that may explain things too. but still a long way before we get to the final answer in all of this. >> stay on it, steve, thank you. so sad about this. born and raised in north philadelphia, r and b singer billy paul has died. how he is being remembered in his hometown. >> ♪
