7:11 am
that from central in the more rural counties. i'm very surprised by verdict. other question is 5 million in punitive was related to or kind of of tied to the two million-dollar. i don't see that verdict getting overturn. i don't think punitive award was out of line with the actual damages. punitive award had been hundred million-dollar on 2 million have of damages i could see a judge cut ago this award. >> basically what he says my life is ruin, i can't do anything, i can't go anywhere. >> that is what he said. he alleged he lost his job, he has no opportunities from that point forward. those are his damages. basically what he was saying was as a result of comments, spanier made and penn state made about curly and schultz that somehow it defamed him or showed him in a false light and made it very difficult if not impossible to find a job. that was what he said. i could not get a job because of the result, direct result with the law caused proximate

>> and doctor ben carson joins us here in our studio here on "good day philadelphia". >> welcome to philadelphia good we will talk about your appearances where you will this be morning and this afternoon in a little bit. you are in a swing state, that is why you you are in pennsylvania. you have 330 million in the great united states of america, and don't we deserve better than these two candidates. we could not find two other people then these two. >> well, i don't think this election is about either of these candidates good what is it then. >> it is really about the direction of the country because if you look at the platforms of the democrats verse the republicans, and i would encourage people to read them, they lead in completely opposite directions. when you look at the solutions that are offered by the two parties for the problems that are planning us that seven out of ten americans are concerned about they also completely different so what we should be concentrating on is helping
7:15 am
people, to understand the differences because that is what this election is about. it is about the direction of the country what kind of country we will have. there are a lot of people that want to make it pot candidates rather than talk about the the issues. >> we're electing human beings, carson so we have to worry about who they are and what they stand for. >> you won't get anybody who feels more strongly about character then i do but there comes a time when you have to be able to prioritized. >> critics of hillary clinton says she's most corrupt candidate we have he have haddon a presidential ticket, would you agree with that. >> there is no question she's very corrupt, but again, the big issue is do we go off and become a country that is up for a better g or a company that is up for better people good here in pennsylvania donald trump is not doing well in the polls. that is you why are here to support him i presume. remember back, of course, the g.o.p. debate. >> sure.
7:16 am
>> would there have been anybody else on that stage who would be leading in the pennsylvania pole pole. >> that is a hypothetical good who knows. >> it is what it is. they are the people who they are and we have to deal with them. again, the question becomes what do we want for our children. when we look at a 20 trillion-dollar national debt which is continuing to increase, who has the better plan for relettering that. when we look at a government that is growing much faster then the private sector, we say, who has a better plan for dealing with that. >> you say it is donald trump. does he have a shot a winning. >> i think he has a excellent shot of winning. >> why would you say that, looking at polls, don't you believe in polls. >> i do believe in polls to a degree but the poll that got so much attention last week,
7:17 am
the abc poll had hillary up 12 points, they only surveyed 29 percent republicans. >> that has shrunk, most of the other polls is four or five points ahead. >> so donald trump would pull this off, would you serve in his administration. >> i have made it very clear i have no intention of being in an administration but i will continue to work extremely hard to help our country. >> what if hillary clinton wins would you serve in her administration. >> of course not. >> why not. >> you have to have some agreement with the people thaw you are working with. >> also donald trump gets in his own way. he wases in florida the other day and said hillary clinton has less energy than jeb bush, wouldn't that turn florida voters off. >> it is probably not what i would have said, probably not what he would have said. >> he said that many other times. >> we're very different people i like to concentrate on the
7:18 am
issues. i think issues themselves are different enough and we owe it to the american people to make sure that they understand what those differences are. >> what kind of feedback have you got even from that thing that happened on msnbc, but you got in an argument with one of the female hosts. >> i have run into a lot of people who enjoyed that immensely. >> let's enjoy it again. >> the real reason women who are being sexually abused don't come forward to talk about their stories is precisely this, all too often they are accused of being liars. you are saying these women are lying. >> that is your characterization, because you need to characterize it that way, to try to make he the bad guy. >> no, no, no. >> no, stop, stop, stop. >> can you turn her microphone off please.
7:19 am
>> no. >> you probably wouldn't have said that to a man, you said it because she's a woman. >> i would have said that about anybody. i have said it many times. when you have people who try to over talk and over talk a guest why not just turn their microphone off. >> i a say that about myself. >> so it has nothing to do with her gender. >> of course not. >> why does donald trump says the election could be rigged. >> well, bear in mind people have talked about rigged elections for multiple elections. >> majority of the american people believe it is fair. >> let me just give so information on that. >> 14 percent of illegals are registered to vote. in this country that translate to about four to 5 million people. we have not done the requisite things to prevent that from happening. i think that is a a problem. there have been multiple
7:20 am
instances of people being on the voter rolls who are no locker -- >> but university study couple weeks ago said out of a billion votes in the lassie lex there is only 31 violations. >> thirty-one convictions, convictions. because vast majority of the cases are not prosecuted. >> of course, we are always out of time. >> where are you going go to be, is what your first stop, it is early. >> we will do some things in philadelphia we will be in effort a and lancaster good good to see you. >> thank you. >> enjoy your time here in philadelphia. >> what kind of a football fan are you. >> i love american foot ball. >> not the ravens. >> i like the ravens. >> i like redskins. >> what about the eagles. >> i like the eagles. >> you should get into politics. >> good to see you. >> here's sue. >> we are taking a look at a big change in the weather
7:21 am
