mallory hoff is live outside the station house. we're going to go first to eyewitness news reporter dray clark at the scene of the shooting in east harlem. dray. >> reporter: good morning, investigators are still working multiple crime scenes that stretch from east 102nd street to east 124th. here behind me just down the block on 120th this really is the main focal point for detectives. this is where officer holder had that exchange of gunfire with the suspect who's now accused of taking his life. officer holder was shot in the head and pronounced dead at harlem hospital at 10:22 last night. officers saluted the slain officer as a small nypd away from the hospital earlier this morning. officer holder was 33 years old and a five-year veteran with the nypd assigned to psa5, a housing patrol unit. holder and his partner responded to gunfire last night near 1st avenue and east 102nd street. one man told the officers he had just been robbed at gunpoint. the officers then located a suspect at 120th street. that 32-year-old suspect opened

eyewitness news reporter mallory hoff is live in east harlem for us. mallory. >> good morning. investigators say there was an argument between two men here at this homeless shelter that escalated quickly. take a look at this video. you can see investigators here bottom of this situation. this is a homeless shelter that has 101 beds and it's for men only. police got the call just before midnight, arrived on scene and found a man with a stab wound on his neck. that man was pronounced dead at the scene. i spoke to a man that resides at the shelter. he told me there was an ongoing discussion between the two men involved here and a lot of people were nervous that something might happen. >> he was mad because supposed to be that guy stole things from him before. somebody was stealing something from him, you know what i mean. that's what he was telling us for a couple of days. he was complaining to staff that somebody was stealing things from him. >> reporter: investigators tell us they are well aware of who that suspect is. this morning there is an active and ongoing search to find t

"eyewitness news" reporter mallory hoff is live downtown. the new pictures of the east river streetcar. good morning, mallory. >> reporter: lori, good morning. we're standing in one of the most congested areas in brooklyn. the mayor says his goal is to ease up transportation. the projected costs to do that, $2.5 billion. i want you to take a look right now at these renderings. it shows where we are standing. this is what the proposed streetcar line would look like. because the project would operate on city streets, it's not expected to need state approval, meaning it would not require the blessing of and west and this would provide a north/south. this connector would run from sunset park to astoria, queens. it would run along the east river connecting the subways, ferries, bus routes and city bike stations. the three cars would travel 12 miles per hour, a trip between there and brooklyn would take 27 minutes. from what we understand, the project will wrap up in 2024. the mayor will make his pitch tonight. mallory hoff, channel 7 "eyewitness
