eyewitness news reporter mallory hoff is live now in rosedale with more. mallory. >>reporter: lori, good morning. investigators are now searching for the driver of what they're saying is a dark colored dollar van. take a look behind me. this is the area where this hit and run took place this morning. police say the driver hit a 16- year-old girl in the crosswalk and then just kept on driving. take a look at this video of the scene. it happened just before 12:30 this morning. police say the teen was hit and killed. again, investigators now the teen was crossing sunrise highway at francis lewis boulevard in the crosswalk. the driver was traveling eastbound. this is near the rosedale train station. the teen was taken to jamaica hospital where she was pronounced dead. back out here live, you can see a few items scattered in the road where first responders attempted to help this teenager. the speed limit here is 40 miles per hour, and as you can tell this early morning, even in the dark, this is a generally well-lit area. this morning investigators are on the search for

mallory hoff joins us live from the 115th precinct with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, michelle. we know a 29-year-old man was questioned here overnight and charged this morning. he was taken into custody after investigators released this surveillance video. take a good look at this video. you can see the man police identified as jamonton carrillo in queens. police say he is attempting to lure a 10-year old girl off the street it happened in jackson heights at 7:40 yesterday morning. investigators say after motioning to the child, he crossed the street and reached his hand out to her. the child ran and yelled for help. a school crossing guard confronted him as he took off running. he was arrested later that day charged this morning. morning, investigators are saying that that little girl, that 10-year old, she did exactly what she should have done in this situation. she ran as fast as she could and she made a lot of noise. and the crossing guard acted quickly. mallory hoff, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> all right, thank you very

mallory hoff joins us with the latest from maywood. mallory, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, michelle. investigators are telling us the woman suffers from a seizure disorder and family members say she does not have her medication with investigators set up a command that is a picture of 22-year- old dolores steuben. she was last seen thursday night when she was pulled over by maywood police for a traffic stop. that is not far from her home in passaic. the command post is set up in the area where she was stopped. at that time she was driving a gray mitsubishi, wearing a pink wool coat a long black skirt and rainbow colored sneakers. now, family is telling investigators the last time they heard from her she said she was lost. they set up a command post last night and worked very late. they have since gone home to get a few hours of sleep. they are expected back to continue their search this morning. investigators are looking for any information anyone may have about the missing woman. mallory hoff, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> t

mallory hoff is live in tremont with the story. mallory? >> reporter: good morning. preliminary reports coming in right now. investigators are saying it appears that some type of off duty law enforcement officers fired a single shot at a man who was attempting to rob him. take a look at this video. you can see investigators at work here at the scene. this right now, 179th street and creston avenue in the tremont section of the bronx. now, what we are learning is that it appears, according to investigators, that around 4:00 this morning, three men approached this off duty law enforcement officer at which that officer did in fact fire a single shot. that man shot has been taken to st. barnabas hospital. the extend of his injuries are unclear. what we are learning at this hour is that two men, the two men with that man who was shot, well, they ran in different directions this morning. what we know right now, one wearing a black jacket, another wearing a red jacket. both of these men considered armed and dangerous. one carrying a gun and another carrying a knife. investi

"eyewitness news" reporter mallory hoff is live downtown. the new pictures of the east river streetcar. good morning, mallory. >> reporter: lori, good morning. we're standing in one of the most congested areas in brooklyn. the mayor says his goal is to ease up transportation. the projected costs to do that, $2.5 billion. i want you to take a look right now at these renderings. it shows where we are standing. this is what the proposed streetcar line would look like. because the project would operate on city streets, it's not expected to need state approval, meaning it would not require the blessing of and west and this would provide a north/south. this connector would run from sunset park to astoria, queens. it would run along the east river connecting the subways, ferries, bus routes and city bike stations. the three cars would travel 12 miles per hour, a trip between there and brooklyn would take 27 minutes. from what we understand, the project will wrap up in 2024. the mayor will make his pitch tonight. mallory hoff, channel 7 "eyewitness

mallory hoff is live on the scene in clifton with new information. >> reporter: good morning. you have to imagine this must situation -- nerve-racking situation. what we are seeing is a large gaping hole on the outside of this building left behind as a result of this crash. now, this is a flower shop you are looking at here. the crash happened around midnight. nypd says the officer who is actually a sergeant had a medical condition that lead him to pass out behind the wheel. by the time he woke up, as you can see, it was clearly too late. he had already crashed into the side of this building. witnesses say at the time of the accident the lights were actually flashing on this police cruiser. just since i spoke to you at 5:30, we caught up with the owners of the flower shop. they were here to survey the damage. >> this is your shop, these your livelihood. what do you do now. >> the only thing is what she got. she makes money for a living, you know what i mean? >> back out live as you can see, there are apartments on top of this flower shop. we are told at least two apartments, a

mallory hoff is following this story from jersey city. >> reporter: ken, investigators hard at work trying to figure out what happened here really a bizarre situation. investigators tell us a 911 call lead them to this home behind us. they say it happened around 6:00 last night. that when the call came in. a mother and child were found in a second floor apartment. this is on lincoln street. police say the two were discovered unconscious yesterday. the woman who was in her 20s and her 5-year-old were taken to christ hospital after arriving they were both pronounced dead. the jersey city fire department tested the air quality in this apartment. so far they say all tests came back negative for monoxide. now neighbors say this is an incredibly devastating situation. they are quite saddened by it but they say right now, they're just struggling to understand exactly what happened here. live in jersey city, channel 7 eye witness news. >>> thank you. and the rest of an alleged cell phone theft is now the subject of an nypd internal investigation because of what showed up on a security camera. now
