a new service has started now going to south san francisco so it goes south san francisco and then next year we'll see the impacts of that service. passenger crews remain a big part of our business, it goes all the way back to the gold rush when the united states built their first ship, it turned into a passenger ship to bring people to san francisco for the gold rush so it was a very long sector for us. we are if perfectly positioned for it within the bay. we are a little by geographically challenged within the pacific ocean and the state of california, but nonetheless, crews calls is growing fairly rapidly just in time for opening up the new cruise terminal which is in september. ship repair is also a very big piz. it goes back to the gold rush. most everything was made from relics of vessels back in the 1800s, including i ing equipment for the gold rush and of course ship repair and building has been a robust trade, also a big employs people in 22 different trades. they operate at about the same number of ftes as the port and they support all six of the ports and the bay. and then we

morgan brennan is live from the conference at san francisco. hey there, morgan. >> reporter: as you can see behind me we have some stragglers coming in, but the real action is inside, including a massive line into the high-security stage area where mark zuckerberg is expected to take the stage. the agenda is all about developers, helping them build and make money on app.s, but right now everybody is buzzing whether zuckerberg will unveil details about the long-awaited new mobile ad network. such a network would allow facebook to leverage the massive collection of user data to help marketers better target ads. this could be a new revenue stream, as much as $3 billion, by some analyst estimates that's not so tied to user growth. for its part, facebook is not confirming anything. we are waiting for mark zuckerberg to take the stage. back over to you. >> we are waiting as well. 1:00 eastern time looks like the k keynote is going to be just a few minutes away. what do we think about this one? we talk so much about twitter, as twitter is having pain

and we educate quite frankly the future of san francisco. and so, we know in order to compete in san frcisco you have to have the really higher skills. we have those of us who have gone out to the charter schools at the county jail, and commissioner maufas and i, we know, that those men, 60 percent of them went to our schools. and we know that 85 percent of them had less than a fifth grade education and we know that that is wrong and so, at kol man, we had this campaign, and first, to identify the racial achievement gaps and then it was an a, through g, education requirement and so i would like the other employees the kol man, we feel, i guess, were extra hard on the district i have to say myself too. and because we feel such a personal responsibility to those students and those parents. and we told them help was coming. and we told them that we asked them to dreams for their children and every one of those dreams are to college education. and so when you see these numbers, i appreciate that we have the data now and it is so... and i think t

and social promotion, if i understand exists here in san francisco unified, and so we are getting students that have things that are happening before they get to the high school. and then to say that we are going to wind up fixing it, and i think that the data will be nice is to find out when, they failed their classes. and so if they failed it in the 9th grade or tenth or eleventh grade and now we have a subset and i think that all of this data is good, but what you are looking at, african american and where do they cross the line into the whites and the chinese and special needs and ell and so i would ask if the board and this group will look into if a student is not on track, how many of the students that were not atrack for graduation also did not pass kc? and that is good information of where we are going to be putting the funds and if a student fails a class the first semester, are they with the same teacher, the next semester? because, for me, if a student does well i according to the ed code am i only person of record who can change that previous grade, and if, i am the teacher who
