up, and locked up good. on the republican side, john kasich and jeb bush seem to bes a sending right now. so one of them could bump marco rubio who had a very poor debate performance. ted cruz is somebody who is in the mix, but is having trouble gaining the kind of traction in new hampshire that he did in iowa. chris christie effectively the last stan for him right now. if he doesn't do well, it's difficult to see him performing well in nevada or south carolina. >> ben carson needed a rest after the iowa caucuses. do you think he will need a rest after new hampshire. >> his campaign may be put to rest after new hampshire. he had a terrible debate performance by all accounts the last time around as well, and he just doesn't seem to be doing much of anything that would indicate he is going to be able to stay in this campaign much beyond new hampshire. maybe he will persist to south carolina and beyond, but the numbers aren't there, the cash isn't there, it seems like a campaign that is on life support for ben carson right now. >> the fact that he is now being call called robo rubio, wh

, and john kasich. all governors. they really piled on to marco rubio at the most recent republican debate. they've done some of the campaign trail as well. chris christie the most vocal saying that the young senator from florida is not experienced enough to hold the presidency. whether or not christie really benefits from that or whether it just means a bump for the other candidates generally remains to be seen. now marco rubio is doing well here in the polls. he has not had as much of a presence in new hampshire over months and months like the governors have. the governors have invested a lot of time and effort here. it's important that it pays off, and they say somewhere in that second tier tomorrow as voters head to the polls. >> what are the candidates doing today? >> well, they're out stumping for votes. you can tell it is snowing here. there is expected to be a bit of accumulation. it may cause campaigns to have to do changing around of their schedules. but people in new hampshire are used to the snow. they plan to get out and vote tomorrow, and so far the folks do not seem p

. john hendren is following events in houston and joins us live now. what did the saudi oil minister have to say? >> reporter: well, julie, it's very much like you said, a lot of people here would like to see cuts in production, about a million barrels a day are being produced beyond what demand calls for, but the saudi oil minister sat down and said very calmly that that was not going to happen, they simply couldn't get other countries to cooperate. he said the best hope is for a freeze. there is is an agreement between venezuela, russia, saudi arabia, and qatar to freeze levels at january levels, however, those levels were comparatively high. that hasn't had much effect on the market. there will be talks in march about broadening the number of countries involved in the freeze. but saudi arabia has cash reserves. it can weather this out in ways that other countries cannot do. and american frac-ers are continuing to pump out as much oil as they can, because they need the money. but it could be quite sometime before the market recovers. >> john what are experts saying in terms of predictio

prices. the slump is having a big impact on oil-dependant economies. john hendren joining us live from houston, texas, and you are covering that conference, amongst oil leaders. what kind of strategies are they talking about here? >> reporter: well, they are long-term strategies. they all know there's no short-term fix. oil prices are at about $30 a barrel. what they are talking about now is some kind of freeze -- doing something to halt production, but that's just a handful of countries, and of course you have got the increase in oil from american shale producers and from iran, which now that sanctions have lifted is adding oil on to the market. so there's a real glut of oil on the market as we speak right now, the saudi arabia oil ministry is talking about saudi arabia's response. he has been fairly criticized for continuing to pump saudi oil. saudi arabia has strong cash reserves so they can handle a time like this, but other countries, russia, venezuela, are not able to do that. they need to keep pumping, and that's what the american producers are doing as well. so getting control
