us some analytics on how people move around cities and how vehicles drive around cities. so, currently we have 16 neighborhoods -- 18 neighborhoods covered in san francisco, and we get real-time data back that shows exactly how many people go by some of the busiest areas in san francisco. so, you can see here san francisco, on average total, i think we had 150 people cross our sensors on average for every sensor. in case you want to go into time density. so, we end up getting these really, really great visualizations of the busiest times and the least busiest times of people moving around san francisco. you want to go down into union square? you can see the data changes dramatically when we change the neighborhood. and just illustrates how different every neighborhood in san francisco really is. we're announcing today that we're providing some of this data to the city as a kind of public service to help the citizens here figure out how many people walk around their neighborhood. but mostly it's to help public service, like the fire department, the police department, the m

we're already an expensive city. residents, visitors, everybody tells me it's expensive to live in the city, not just housing cost, but fees and access to things and i'm very sensitive to that. i want everybody to enjoy what we have. i want to get to the part that we can sustain these things without putting more financial burden on people. i think everybody is being taxed pretty high in our city, whether it's fees or permits or paying for muni and other parking and others. we're at a point where people are kind of sick and tired of being harangued for every penny that they have. with that sentiment, we're trying to make sure that all of our fees and current processes are keeping that in check, that we don't put more burden on the public. and that goes for every agency, whether it's rec and park or muni or the late effort to increase fees that maybe somebody thought hadn't been increased in 25 years adds to everything else. we should try to be more innovative and creative and that is why we're working with technology

early days of the city, the city grows up in what is the financial district on the edge of chinatown. everything they rely on for existence is the golden gate. it's of massive importance to the people what comes in and out of san francisco bay. they can't see it where they are. they get the idea to build a giant wooden structure. the years that it was up here, it gave the name telegraph hill. it survived although the structure is long gone. come to the 1870's and the city has growed up remarkably. it's fueled with money from the nevada silver mines and the gold rush. it's trying to be the paris of the west. now the beach is the suburbs, the we will their people lived on the bottom and the poorest people lived on the top because it was very hard getting to the top of telegraph hill. it was mostly lean-to sharks and bits of pieces of houses up here in the beginning. and a group of 20 businessmen decided that it would be better if the top of the hill remained for the public. so they put their money down and they bought four lots at the top of the hill and they gave them to the city. lily

it was president really dictated a lot by city hall. city hall was basically following the lead of the community. i think it actually was really well done. the input that came from san francisco communities, cbo's, i think really had a really good design. there were some probably little flaws here and there but actually it's a model that's i think really worked. now we're combining with p, i still think that that community stake holder community should really derive what this looks like and it really shouldn't be about, you know, who in city hall thinks this should be a certain image or whatever. it really has to be that kind of measure and that's going to be important for sharing that. for me, my druthers, if we're going to have one measure it's going to be the size or more as the children's fund, the same size or more as peace to get that amount together. i'm not sure they should be together at all. that means we have to have a high threshold to peace and we have to have a lot of community buy-in to do that. i think that buy-in coming
