christina loren has your forecast in just a few moments, but let's go to christie smith who is in marin county which is tapping into their emergency reserves starting today. >> that's right. we just took a ride to the reservoir about 20 minutes ago and mixed in with all of the beautiful redwood trees, you see the steady sound of a pop. they have not used this water supply in about 20 years. the supply is about 55% of normal because of the lack of rain that we have. so the marin municipal water district is pumping water, which is really costly, because it is being pumped up hill. the district wants to pump out before it starts to evaporate. unlike some water districts, it doesn't rely on runoff, just the rain it would normally get. now the prior rainfall low was in 1929. that year it was just 19 inches and they have already gone even lower. >> normally we get 52 inches, and in 2013 we got 11 inches. that's why our reservoirs are so low at this point. we have been tracking this for a number of months. we talked about it back in december and we were given the charge to go out and start tal
