i think i'm my fourth-generation san franciscan i'm afraid of the future for san francisco for our children. i do this somewhat out of fear for our families that find it harder and harder to live in san francisco and survive here but i also do it for the future of the children and the families and in particular our students that will graduate from our city hall's and hope they'll be able to live here and raise children. i believe in order to do that we must work with the city to make it happen. and i think that we can hold everyone accountable. they're not the ones to evaluate us around the student achievement we evaluate ourself but the commitment so the 55 public children and those who will come to us. i'm okay with this. i have to say it's a leap of faith but i'm okay i feel like the way we've been doing it is not effective we're losing more and more of our african-americans families it's a hard gap to close we only have them for 6 hours a day and there's a larger community that needs to support our children this is a way to work together so it's more efficiently and finishing. i'm going

gab members, the san francisco arts commissioners and staff and artists and san francisco beautiful and its members. thank you all for helping to craft this proposal. i want to give a little background about the reason why we came together to really address this particular issue. according to our knowledge and legislative analyst, it costs the city close to $20 million annually to abate graffiti on our buses and property and all throughout the city. and the city could use this money to use for other things. as former director and supervisor now, i see the huge cost of graffiti incur. and i hear from property owners that paint over offensive graffiti and to return the next day. i have seen people wait for the muni buses. many trying to remove graffiti, and needs solutions. i didn't want to use those who view crime as a harsher punishment. but yet to research best practices in jurisdictions all over the country, new york and chicago and san diego, and to create a nuance plan to reduce graffiti and provide better outcomes for offenders. most of our proposal is administrative, not just

san francisco either to enjoy our night life or enjoy a living. we are very limited in late night and morning options. particularly when you talk about people getting to and from work people shouldn't have to take a cab. a lot of people can't afford a car or earner a car yet we're forcing them to own a car because we're not giving them late night options. yesterday, i didn't request this but i'll read it from admission pie they posted this on facebook there's something on your minds it's hard to get to and from work when you work in the east bay it's more affordable to have a - it's a show stopper bart didn't run earlier enough to get to work and face it whether a bar person or people who work in sf if you are young and want to stay out later you can now thanks to supervisor wiener it's on the land use committee and so forth. this isn't a monolithic situation there are many people who rely on night life transportation. i want to my aid adam is here to put up photos on the gene. i actually on saturday night i take the subway a lot including on week

it's the oldest divorce health organization in the san francisco bay area. brief california was founded after the precipitation of tuberculosis in 1908 to create critical health care services they've placed an important role for the policies as well as the board of supervisors. i'm proud to work with them and declaring april 21st as the brief california day. also on the theme of earth day i wanted to ask many of you many of you are going to be participating in bicycle and role to school week in the richmond district will be participating with a number of schools throughout san francisco 60 schools will participate to celebrate the joys and many benefits of biking to school. i biked to school when i was a high school student the majority of the districts are participating pea body elementary and roosevelt and washington high school. it will promote healthy activities the safe routes partnership will provide resources to participating schools to host an event one week each spinning it's cooperated by bicycle coalition some members are here. i'll be visiting as

a scope of san francisco and a big picture and 72,000 students -- youth living in san francisco from 5-7 and 57,000 attend u san francisco unified school district and we're looking at the meals we want to provide we want to reach that number but go beyond that to those in need and want so a quick overview we're looking at all of the handful of cbos in the city that are providing meals but from what we know there are 6500 snacks provided on a daily basis and during the summertime about 8500 lunches provided so i'm going to step back and now talk about -- forward and talk about efforts towards just summer meals. we do receive a federal reimbursement and that helps cover the cost of meal delivery, snacks, staff and outreach. we do 5200 lurchs a day and this is a big piece i want to clarify is that it's open sites, that the majority are open sites which means any student can eat the lunch and leave. there is no paperwork, no enrollment that is provided and this is a big piece i think this is a misconception happening. they can provide services to 85 different sites and we can serve more
