la plata, waldorf, charlotte hall and here in fairfax station. dairy queen discovered 295 locations nationwide where the payment systems were infected by malware that was stealing customer information. the malware was active for a good hunk of august, although the exact dates varied my location. now here at fairfax station the problem was between august 5th and the 31st. now, take a look at some of the compromised information. this is what the hackers got. customer names, card numbers, and expiration dates. however, dairy queen says there is no indication they got social security numbers or pins. dairy queen says they have taken care of the problem, they have gotten rid of this malware and they are basically working with their customers. if you think you have been impacted, they are offering one free year of identity repair services. so you can contact them if you did go to one of these locations impacted and if you have concerns about your account. certainly keep a close eye on your bank accounts and report anything that might be strange. report
