and so this represents care across cpmc, san francisco campuses. the majority of the care to the low income is provided at the california pacific and the davis campuss that are reported together as one hospital, and saint lukes reports separately. and so similar, this requires that the community benefit be maintained at levels which was 8 million upon entering into the agreement. and the prorated share of this was approximately 1.16 million dollars, and cpmc then exceeded that by providing the community benefit in the amount of 1.5 million dollars. and also, the base line, charity care component requires that cpmc maintains the charity care and so that they can be no more restrictive and continue their financial support to the bay view, child health center. >> the second large component of the development agreement, related to medical care, was in the medical beneficiaries and first to require that cpmc saw the beneficiaries was to maintain the contract with the plan which is the primary provider of medical services and insurance. cpmc did do that.

cpmc is the second largest employer in san francisco. and within the hospital, truly requires a multitude of staff, performing many different types of jobs and similar to the hospitality industry. and in given the robust current workforce system in san francisco, san franciscans are well positioned to show these various jobs. the da lies out a process, which defines whether cpmc has made good faith efforts to reach the hiring target. the first step is that cpmc is to follow a special first source hiring process and that requires cpmc to notify oewd of every job opening and give candidates a two-week, hiring window. and to insure that oewd, also known as the city workforce system has an opportunity to refer those candidates and given a first shot at those positions. and secondly, it must communicate the projected jobs needs for the year which will then give the city an upshot, at knowing what types of skills, are required for those positions and how we can best position our residents to be successful. insures that the job training program

and we will not have that here in san francisco. >> this morning some businesses in downtown san fncisco were assessing the damage. protestors, mad over the fergus decision broke windows. >> we locked the door. >> hundreds took coverage. from there they headedo the mission district. several stores and banks were vandalized the owner has bee busy replacing windows. >> a lot of jobs saturday morning sunday, sunday, rst. >> it's not helping at all. it's hurting our businesses and setting back our communy. >> despite the people detained no one has been arrested for vandalism. >> students at stanford walked out of class today. a group gathered on campus, marching into palo alto and tied up traffic. police say it was peaceful. >> rain and wind is a combination that brings down trees in san francisco the city decided to change the permit rules for removing them. along hooid street, dozens lined the streets. >> there are abt 105 trees and the ficus makes up a significant portion that. it was the tree of choice in the 40, 50s and 60s but now, it's old, weak, and starting to become ahazard. public

francisco businesses that have been in business for decades in san francisco, what we are calling legacy businesses, are pacing a lot of challenge, and being able to stay in san francisco. and there are models in other parts of the world where the cities have actually tried to do something to protect those legacy businesses. these legacy businesses are businesses that essentially have helped to shape the character of the neighborhoods without these businesses or these neighborhoods would not be what they are. through this legislation, we would essentially become the first city in the country to create a registry and that not only would identify those legacy business but also would create different incentives and in ways to assist these businesses stay in san francisco. and my understanding is that there will be a number of changes and recommendations coming from the small business commission. and so with that understanding, i would like to make a motion to continue this to the call of the chair. >> but, i know that there may be public comment. >> okay, thank you, supervisor campos. >> th

at the san francisco airport. i'll be asking our president to work with me to ensure that we have a committee as a whole. the impacts of potential labor unrest if it led to a strike it may have a horrible impact economically on the city during the holiday time so i'm urging colleagues and our president to support the committee as a whole for next tuesday's meeting december december 16th and and i'll be submitting the language to the clerk within the deadline that we're required. thank you. >> thank you supervisor mar. supervisor campos. >> thank you madam clerk i want to say that i'll be cosponsoring the motion by supervisor mar i want to thank him and his staff i think it's important for us to at least have the possibility of having a committee as a whole following as a whole next week. maybe it won't be needed but i think it needs to be ready to have the conversation in the event that there's no resolution of a very important labor dispute that's happening at at the airport. >> thank you supervisor campos. >> th
