jay korff is live with the latest. jay, what are you learned? jay: a lot new developments. horrifying news out of charleston. errors of a shooting at one of the oldest ame churches from all the south. the latest from abc news 4. police responded to a shooting at the manuel ame church commonly referred to as mother emanuel at 9:00. which necessaries are telling crews at the scene they have seen multiple wounded and multiple fatalities. we do not have exact numbers as to the number of people injured or killed but reports indicate in the area possibly of eight fatalities. the shooter described as a white male approximately 21 years of age. a reporter from abc 7 abc news 4 posted a a picture of a person. while fitting the description not called a suspect. led in handcuffs handcuffs a hotel. we do not know if this is the suspect. we know that people in sways like this will be brought in for questioning and we do know that an active search is continuing for the shooter. wednesday night if you legislatived in the south or spent time in the south as i have is traditionally bible st

jay: indeed, leon. the court documents released tonight eight a troubling picture. -- paint a troubling picture, an allegation leveled against the teacher. the teacher said to be very popular is now behind bars. 31-year-old giovanni pena is not teaching at oyster-adams elementary school in northeast because he is in jail with no bond. court documents say that a student came forward monday alleging when he was a fourth grader last school year that pena touched him inappropriately. he said while in class, the defendant touched his private parts on top of his clothing. the student alleges the teacher sent him a picture of his private parts on his cell phone using snap chat. the student said that pena is a close family friend. according to the criminal complaint, pena admitted to sending inappropriate pictures and that he and the student touched each other inappropriately while class was in session. tonight, we spoke with the woman who says she knows and works with giovanni pena. she told us she is shocked.

sweat was spotted by a new york state sergeant, is sergeant jay cook. he was approached this afternoon but the sergeant recognized mr. sweat. obviously from his description. he engaged mr. sweat. mr. sweat fled. the trooper gave chase. the trooper was unable to catch him on foot. at one point, the sergeant decided to discharge his weapon hitting mr. sweat twice in the torso. mr. sweat went down. help arrived plane sweat is now in a hospital in stable condition. this happened a mile and a half from the canadian borderer in the town of constable. i had the chance to speak with sergeant cook and congratulate him on his great police work. he was alone when this happened. sergeant cook happens to be from troop b, which is this area. he knew the area very well. he was still alone and was a very courageous act. i said to sergeant cook, who has two daughters, 16 and 17, i said, well, you go home tonight, and tell your daughters you are a hero. with teenager girls that will probably last a good 24 hours and then you will go back to being a regular dad as i well

jay korff is live with the latest on the investigation. jay: a wild scene over the weekend. this is a normally peaceful area. police say the shooting occurred between eastern senior high school and this church right in the intersection. now they are searching for two female suspects. the 1700 block of east capital street in northeast washington appears idyllic on the picturesque monday. sunday morning at 4:30, violence was unleashed on a taxi driver. they don't know what ignited the confrontation but the two female drivers in their 20's argued with the cabby and then shot him. while the women fled the cabby drove a mile to 600 massachusetts avenue not far from the u.s. capitol where police found him. he was alive and conscious at the time. investigators canvassed the shooting scene to see if anyone caught the crime on our violence camera as -- on a surveillance camera as the female suspects are at large. >> this is not surprising but heartbreaking that a man has been shot. >> thomas hudson works feet away from the shooting he is concerned that the gun violence spiked in the
