jackie ward is live in livermore with the latest details. >> reporter: good morning. one person is dead, another seriously injured after a shooting that took place at this livermore cvs parking lot after 6:00, police out for the suspect, they believe one is 18- year-old jason brown, the other suspects i didn't he is not known. brown is no stranger to police. fresno pd says brown was involved in a fatal shooting out of fresno restaurant in september. saturday when livermore police got to the scene they found two adult males in their 20s. the diver -- driver died inside the vehicle and the passenger was taken to the hospital where he went through several surgeries. we don't know his status and the names of the victims are withheld. a 12-year-old witness was able to give police the license plate number that brown and the other suspect took often. this whole community is an edge. >> they are ruthless and evil. this is a quiet town in these types of things don't happen very often so we take it very personal when someone comes to our town and commits a crime like this. >> r

kpix 5's jackie ward is at cal state east bay in hayward with the latest. good morning, jackie. >> reporter: good morning, maria. classes started here at cal state university about a month ago but faculty is ready for a break they say because of unfair salary. starting at 9:00 this morning the strike authorization vote will begin online and in person. california faculty association president jennifer eagen says stagnant faculty which is why the 20,000 members are ready to strike. the cfa wants 5% annual increase for all its members as well as a 2.6% service salary increase for eligible faculty. csu management is offering a 2% salary increase according to the cfa. csu spokeswoman says that the fair proposal because faculty was the only group of employees to receive salary increases during the recession years. starting at 7:00 this morning, picketers will arrive to kickoff the vote and that will continue through october 20 at 5:00 p.m. live in hayward, jackie ward, kpix 5. >>> heavy rain causing trouble in solano county over the weekend. thunderstorms rolled

kpix 5's jackie ward joins us live outside city hall with more on that this morning. jackie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. as many people not city's sanctuary policy came under fire when kate steinle was shot and killed on pier 15 on a walk on the pier with her dad on july 1. so today, the san francisco board of supervisors will vote on a pair of resolutions involving the city's sanctuary policy which limits city cooperation with federal immigration authorities. the board and mayor lee are saying that the policy has nothing to do with steinle's death since the sheriff's department should have called immigration and customs enforcement to let them know her shooter was released months before her death. he was previously deported multiple times. one of today's resolutions calls for sheriff ross mirkarimi to reverse an order banning his staff from communicating with immigration authorities. a competing measure would go the other way encouraging the sheriff not to notify i.c.e. when certain immigrants are released. the board's nonbinding decision could indicate
