seeing a drop in violent crime, inclling some right here in eastern iowa. dubuque saw the biggest decrease in violent crime in the country. that's according to data from the fbi. kwwl's shirley descorbeth is live from the t-h media newsroom in dubuque. shirley...you spoke with dubuque police about that data. and they say...they have concerns. that's right... police tell me despite the good news... the city saw its highest number of homicides and shots fired in 20-15. that year -- isn't included in the report. and for the year ahead -- they're the study sayay violent crimims such as murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault -- have dropped the most in dubuque. that's from the years 20-10 to 2014. dubuque police say there were some issues in how they reported aggravated assaults to the fbi 20-10. and that's why stats from the report should be taken lightly. iowa man pleads guilty to murdering his girlfriend. shaun hogan agreed to a plea deal of second degree murder in the death of... his girlfriend, crystal gaffney. hogan admitting stabbing gaffney after her body was found in linn county in 2014. he'll be sentenced in may. a grand jury report reveals two roman catholic priests helped cover up sexual abuse. it involved of hundreds of children by more than 50 priests, over a 40-year period. the report points to catholic priests about the gospel, getting children drunk and even hypnotizing them to then sexually abuse them. the state attorney general's office says some of the "they were thrust into an adult world that is unimaginable. they weren't out playing baseball. they were trying to avoid priests." however, too many years have passed under the law to bring the charges. two people are dead after a car crashed into a restaurant in massachusetts. seven people were sent the hospital, and at least three are in serious or critical condition. firefighters are saying the driver of the car survived. crews are on site trying to figure out how it
