assigned to fort carson, colorado work medical troop support squadron of the third army call vary regiment. he was assigned as a medic for the regimental commanders personal security detachment. during his tour, jeff recognized the dire need for qualified medics and desaied to re-enlist to further serb his fellow soldiers and his country. when his service would eventually end, he intended to continue his college education and become a physicians assistant after his return from iraq. tragically, while serving in tel afar, iraq, he was killed in action on september 5, 2005. during his all too brief but distinct military career he received various awards and decorations, including the bronze star medal, purple heart, army commendation medal, iraqi campaign medal, global war on terrorism service medal, national defense service medal and defense service rib bonn and was award the combated me ibbling badge. while jeff is remembered by his army colleagues as a dedicated and selfless soldier he was that and much more to his family and friends back home. those in the warrenville community
